Britannia Hotel Coventry

Location good for our purposes.

Its location at the city center, proximity to public transportation.

It’s clean in general but very dusty. I’m allergic to dust so I have been having a hard time at nights.

Location was good. Beds were comfortable. Tea and coffee was well stocked

Rooms and corridors are tired and need an update

The hotel is average at best. Its biggest advantage is definitely the location, which is excellent, but unfortunately there is not much else that stands out positively.

The staff were very neutral throughout our stay – no smiles, warmth, or friendliness. It felt as if they were simply operating on autopilot rather than making guests feel welcome. The room design was not very practical. The only power outlets were located on the opposite side of the bed, with none available next to the bed itself. In the bathroom, there was no standard power outlet for a hairdryer, only a shaver socket. Another issue was the smell of marijuana on the 5th-floor corridor near the elevators. This was noticeable every day during our stay and negatively affected the overall experience. On our last day, I wanted to use the restroom on the ground floor before leaving. However, both the women’s and accessible restrooms were locked, while the men’s restroom remained open. I asked reception for a key and was given access to the accessible restroom instead. Unfortunately, it was very dirty and there was a large amount of water on the floor. A few moments later, I noticed a member of staff entering the women’s restroom using a key. Unfortunately, I was not offered access to that restroom, which was disappointing. Overall, the hotel met basic expectations, but apart from its convenient location, there was little that would encourage me to stay here again.
