Absolutely gorgeous room - felt so relaxed and happy
Beautiful grounds- waking up to such a lovely view from the huge (very clean) windows made my day
Breakfast very nice
Arrived a little early and felt a bit dismissed by reception . However the lady on reception when we returned after 3pm was very nice

Fantastic restaurant. High quality food. Good price. Attentive staff. High spec bedroom
Reception staff and bar staff appalling.
No-one at check-in despite only being 6pm. Had to self-check meaning you had to guess where your room was, no idea about facilities. Our restaurant was wrong not once but twice with other people’s drinks being put on our bill. Room was hot due to air con not being great and bed sheets too hot

Beautiful location, one of the best scenery we have ever had. The reception staff were very understanding when we were late checking in, special mention for Laura and Natalie.
That we couldn’t have stopped longer

Breakfast was excellent and very prompt. The room is clean although do not stay too near to reception as there is a little noise from the reception & air conditioning but it went off around 11pm. I always stay at this hotel when visiting the NEC.
Its clean and tidy & dinner is very good.

I had dinner in the restaurant and the food was gorgeous couldn’t fault anything. Staff were lovely and helpful.
I booked a room with a bath for a reason and was given a downstairs room which was disabled access so had a very low sink and no bath. I was given a tiny heater but the room was freezing, huge draft coming from the patio doors. I ordered breakfast to my room which I was very disappointed with if I’m being honest.was such a shame as the hotel is lovely a dinner was amazing but was let down by a lot.

The management.
I have never been treated nor spoken to by the duty manager.
I am a smoker therefore paid a lot of money for a bedroom with french doors out to the garden with a patio set. To my shock I had a bang on my door early in the morning about 8.30am there were 2 men whom were duty managers. One if the men were very aggressive and extremely disrespectful accusing me of smoking in the bedroom, I couldn't believe it. I was very upset and explained that I smoked outside while sitting on the patio set however I was shouted at and told that I was lying. I asked to speak to the manager after my appalling treatment he then said the manager wasn't in and that I had to deal with him. He tried to come into my room however my daughter stopped him, we were a mother and daughter and being confronted in an aggressive manner by 2 men shook my daughter and I, we were extremely upset. Later in the afternoon the General Manager knocked on the bedroom door came in and apologised on behalf if his duty manager. Although the General Manager was lively I will never return to this hotel. I travel to Birmingham often with my daughters modelling and with one of my businesses, I thought i had found a gem of a hotel however i found a lovely hotel but ran by an aggressive duty manager with a huge egotistic personality. I own a hotel in Anglesey North wales, should I have one if my duty managers treat guests like this he would be sacked immediately. I forgot to mention when I called reception to ask for the manager and told her what I had just experienced she understood and said the manager had just arrived and she would gladly tell him, she definitely wasn't in favour of this duty manager, my thoughts were if he can treat paying guests this way god help the staff underneath him.

Good location for meeting friends. Staff friendly. Spacious clean room. Food great in restaurant and friendly service.
Patio door in room didn’t lock properly. Men’s toilets near bar poor condition. For the price would expect breakfast to be included and bathrobes in room. Slight unpleasant smell in room. Paid for breakfast on arrival but in the morning told it was still down as room only. No power by beds.

Location was great, and parking was easy; most of the staff were friendly and pleasant. comfortable beds.
One member of staff on the front desk wasn't overly welcoming, not rude, but slightly made you feel as if you had inconvenienced her somehow.
The room aircon wasn't great; it got so hot overnight, and I couldn't bring the temperature down, but it was nice having the double door to open.
There were a few lights in my room that weren't working.
Food was good for dinner, but seemed slightly overpriced for what it was, but overall ok.
Breakfast service was ok, but the food wasn't great. Bacon and Sausages, basically steam-boiled and scrambled eggs, looked questionable. I got asked if I wanted coffee, which I did, but then I got forgotten about. A second server asked me again when they saw me without, but the coffee was not well made with lots of coffee grounds coming through the French press, and lastly, where I sat for breakfast, you could see the seat was heavily stained, maybe not what you expect when everything else looks so nice.

Check-in was smooth and generally clean.
We arrived quiet late traveling up and using the hotel as a halfway point. So arrived around 10:30 pm. Check-in was smooth. The first issue occurred was that the room had no heating at all and was freezing cold, we assumed it may had been left on AC on so we set the temperature and got ready for bed. However became apparent that this was broken. As we where shattered and by this time was around midnight we did not want to have to swap room and decided we would just raise it at check out.
We then had loud banging noises coming from pipes from around 1am to 6am in the morning meaning we got limited amount of sleep.
I had been asked to raise this in an email and provide all the information, which we have including videos. However we have had no response now for over a week so have been forced to leave this review.

The breakfast was our main issue.
Firstly 10am finish is too early for Sunday. That accounts for the dining room being full at 945am.
Some of our friends had waited 40 minutes for an egg. The buffet was almost empty. We could not afford to wait for our meal and left despite having paid for breakfast for 6 people. I made a complaint at reception.

Breakfast - good selection, presentation really good, generous portion sizes
Room- clean , well presented, modern, bathroom great, lovely rainfall shower
Setting - set in beautiful woodland grounds, feels far away from centre but close enough to everything
Bed could have bigger, although our fault as perhaps should of booked a king size room, pillows a litte hard but personal preference

I must say the food was top level at Hogarth.
Normally, whenever my husband and I stayed at the hotel, we always go out for our meals as we find the food very poor and not to standards. Well, we took a dare! And OMG!! How amazing, the food was top level, it was beautiful.
Well done to the new Chef, you made the Hogarth come alive again with your technique...very proud!
Dear Management,
Hogarth hotel is beautiful, But if you want to make it extra special for your guests, why don't you have a computer program that recognises guests who stayed at your hotel. That way your staff can present themselves to the guests, and say welcome back etc etc instead of, have you stayed with us before? Yes, we come twice a year for the past 7 years!!!

All the staff, and particularly Laura and Tom were fabulous.
Hotel is very welcoming and rooms are a good size and well equipped and decorated.
Their booking.com messaging system is woeful.
No one from the hotel ever replies to your messages.
An auto reply just states we’re not available at the moment and suggests you email events.

We were told we would have a quiet room. This turned out to be above the kitchen, where crockery was being banged around, loud talking from staff and doors banging, also next to a very noisy extractor fan. Had to go down to the bar area to request that the volume of noise be quieter. Was told that we could change rooms if need be. Noise started again around 7am, so no lie in. Windows were covered over as the view from the window was a service courtyard. Basin in bathroom cracked and bath panel missing parts. Main door had issues requiring the hotel brochure to stop it rattling. I was informed on leaving in the morning that I would receive a call from the manager, now 3 days later and nothing so far

The Tv had to be re-tuned on arrival. The one side of the bed was worn and uncomfortable compared to other side. No hot water in the morning, Luke warm at best.

Breakfast was delightful.
I didn't buy breakfast, but my friend did, although she didn't use it. They allowed me to 'use' my friend's paid breakfast, which was kind.
I arrived at 11 and asked for an early check-in, fully aware that it may not be possible. I got caught in a downpour of rain and was soaked through, I'd have liked to have changed.
I was told, flat out 'no', check-in is at three.
There was no consideration given to me at all, it would have been nice if the lady at least said, if any rooms become available before three, I will come and get you (as I was working in the lounge all afternoon).
It's a small touch that would have made a difference.
