I visit Ilkley every year and look forward to staying at Craiglands. The rooms are spacious, the staff very friendly and I love the heated towel rack because it dries tights and smalls over night so I can travel lightly. I have not eaten there because I am always visiting friends, but I hear that the food is excellent! I highly recommend it! It has far more charm than "new" hotels with cookie cutter rooms and the grounds are pretty.
I can't think of a thing that needs improving!

This was my second stay in a week! Whenever I am in the area, Craiglands is my hotel of choice!
I have never found anything that I didn't like during my many visits!

Friendly, helpful staff. Great location. Nice building. Decent breakfast. Good bar.
We were notified in advance (of arriving) that there would be a party event on and that quieter rooms would be found for us.
They found us somewhere to store our cycles securely.
It was a little pricey, but there was an event on.

Stayed in room 148. The ensuite bathroom looked recently refurbished and was very good with a roll top bath, separate shower and twin washbasins. The towels were a good size. Bathrobes were provided. The was plenty of hot water.
The bed was comfortable.
The breakfast included a reasonable variety and a toaster that actually worked.
The lady on reception as we checked out was very pleasant.
The car park was spacious.
The switches for the bedside lights were over 2 feet away from the bed on one side. The furniture was an eclectic mix and rather worn. The room had been poorly redecorated but there was patchy paintwork and a strip of wall that had not been painted over.
There were not enough sockets with only one double socket available.
The cables of the ceiling light fittings had been shortened by being lashed up with cable ties and hung unevenly.
There were multiple cobwebs hanging from the ceiling.
There was a big gap under the door.
The wardrobe contained a drawer unit so it was not possible to hang dresses.
There was a small room off the main bedroom that had no window and which contained 2 single sofa beds, a mirror and a washbasin.
The tables and chairs in the brasserie restaurant where breakfast was served were very worn and not particularly clean.
The car park had been covered in very coarse aggregate making it difficult to walk on.
On arrival the gentleman on duty although superficially polite seemed indifferent.
