A good, honest 3-star hotel in a great location. The facilities were good and, although the décor is a little dated, everything was clean and well maintained, which is far more important. The breakfast was good, with plenty of choice to start the day. The only negative was the coffee service, which was exceptionally slow. On Sunday morning, at around 7:45am, the dining room wasn't even busy, yet there was still a long wait for coffee and an equally long wait for refills. Overall, this hotel offers good value for money, clean accommodation, and decent facilities. Despite the slow breakfast service, we would happily stay here again.

The Clarendon is a visually majestic hotel overlooking Blackheath common. The welcome is very warm and informative.
Our room a crown double is enormous and overlooks the heath .
Yes it’s dated but the decor is fresh and the place is very clean.
The bed is super comfy and the bedding high quality cotton.
The staff are all very friendly and professional, cannot do enough for you and the breakfast is outstanding . I am coeliac and the catering for gluten free is exceptional in every way.
The bar is cosy and busy , live saxophonist delicious ginger beer!
The position on the heath is perfect for staying in lovely Blackheath and travelling elsewhere in SE and central London.
It’s great , apparently has been sold to repurpose as a nursing home according to taxi driver which is a shame but to upgrade to modern standards would cost a fortune , it has a quaint old fashioned charm .
