I was expecting something basic as we chose the hotel because of the Ionity EV charger, and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was of a good standard and the room was spacious and comfortable.

The staff were nice and the breakfast was ok.

The heating contrlol didnt work in the room, so it was cold. The pillow was hard and so my sleep was poor. There were hairs in the bathroom.

I loved this hotel so convenient just off the A1 the stag were so friendly and helpful The hotel was spotlessly clean and my room had every thing The lady in front desk was lovely as was the young lady at breakfast along with the bar staff nothing was to much trouble

Everything was great. It’s my third stay here, so I knew what to expect, and that’s why I booked it. The location is perfect with its close proximity to the A1, a family catch up and the Don valley, and buses into town. The staff were all fabulous. Typical Yorkshire folk who are very friendly and engaging with a very genuine manner. They were very helpful with local information, and as we arrived purposely too early for check in, they allowed us to park on site to enable us to go cycling and make the most of the first half of the day. Upon ringing for general information as few days prior to our stay, we were informed of a festive dinner dance for the evening of our first stay, and asked if we’d like to buy tickets for that. We gladly booked that also due to no plans for eating after check in etc, and it didn’t disappoint. The food was stunning, my wife’s dietary needs were met and surpassed ( with a smile ) and the other guests and staff once more and the DJ were all great. We were approached and chatted to by a variety of staff and guests, and all the interactions were friendly and interesting. Parking was ample, sleep was quiet and uninterrupted ( room 240 ), and all the facilities were perfect. We had a two night stay with the single evening festive meal, one lunch, and two breakfasts. The breakfast, like the festive dinner and lunch was wonderful. A mix of cooked and continental food, which was cooked perfectly, with dietary needs met once more and plenty of choice, so highly recommended. The price point is what I expected to pay, and we shall return, and although it has the feel of a corporate chain, it does so with professionalism and a healthy mix of warmness and a personal touch. Thank you for my third floor less stay, and we shall both look forward to a return next summer when the local castle is open to visit, and a taste of more cycling in the drier days. Tired doorways and corridors. As for the room, air conditioning fan bearings that were extremely noisy and a bathroom sink that drained so slowly.

Tired rooms could do with upgrading. £15 for dog to sleep on her own bed . Payment not an issue but to date most hotels Uk & Europe charge this kind of rate when providing a bed, toys, food .

The location was excellent, staff very friendly & helpful.

Our room 208 was above the entrance so on the Saturday night we had NO sleep at all due to people from the party smoking outside & vaping, swearing & talking until the very early hours, 4am.

I have yet to sample the food but do fancy the breakfast in bed and would like this service next tume I stop

No water bottle was provided in the room which was a little disappointing.

Good full English Breakfast as well as Continental selection. Pleasant surroundings. Tables are not squashed in. lots of space to move around easily (especially good for people with walking difficulties.) Toilet facilities are not far and prominent.

The pillows in my room were a bit lumpy.

Plenty of parking. Spacious hotel with very large windows in the room.

The hotel is very dog-friendly so be careful if you have pet allergies. The tomatoes at breakfast have pepper on them.

Location

Our room had broken air con and the temperature in it was 27 degrees. Despite numerous requests to have something done, even just a pole to open the window which was 8ft up there was no real response from the staff other than ‘oh hasn’t someone been yet?’ In the end we packed our case and asked for a refund and left rather than stay. Luckily we found a new hotel!!

Service was excellent. All staff where extremely helpful. The accessible room was amazing, and easy to use.

In a really useful location for the A1 and Doncaster. Staff friendly, and overall, this was a real find for and breakfast was nice and early and the food was good, I loved it that people were able to bring dogs as im a dog owner and lover.

Okay, as with many hotels, the heating is an issue, I prefer it to be a little colder, and it was a little warm,but that's probably me rather than the hotel. The food in the restaurant was fine I had fish chips and it was lovely , flatbread with Chicken tikka ,one piece of chicken on each slice ,stingy and overpriced as it had very little on it ,it was basically a piece 15.00+ slice of bread, it did taste good though. And that sums up my minor moan. Overall though no massive issues.

Hotel was ideally placed for our trip north , ie. A stones throw from the A1M. Staff were very polite and helpful, a very comfy stay. Would certainly return.

The reception staff was excellent polite happy and very helpful.made us very welcome .the night porter needs a mention was such a lovely helpfull man .

The facilities are great for us but what lifts this hotel are the staff. It doesn’t matter what area they work in or their age they are all brilliant. Big thank you to Nicki on reception especially. We shall see you in December.

More parking closer to the hotel for those of us not using a blue badge but with mobility issues would be great.

Very old and tired buildings. The bedroom was small with old decor and furnishings, the bathroom sink was cracked and the carpet was very tired
