I would happily return. Good value.

Lovely night room. I stayed in the separate bungalow, which as a solo traveler was a plus, as no one walking past your room at night. Big comfortable bed.

Overnight stay at Trehellas

Charming, thoughtful staff. Pleasant surroundings, hot water for bath!

Breakfast was really quite poor. Restaurant was chilly.Coffee just Maxwell House sachets and an urn. Cheap sausages. However, the girls serving were delightful! The room was chilly as well, although that was fine overnight.

Disappointing.

The evening meal was pretty good, although my slow cooked belly pork, was more akin to a loin chop. Breakfast was OK but it would have been nice to have "real" coffee, rather than sachets.

The heating in our room, which was in a seperate building, had not been turned on. We were assured that it would come on but after going into Bodmin for an hour or so, it had not come on as as temps where around 3c it needed t be on. One of the staff members did come over with us and turned on the radiators, which someone had turned off. The room was very basic and unfortunately we were kept awake by a couple upstairs, who were very energetic. Then, load snoringing. In other words the accustic insulation was very poor.

Good value, quiet and comfortable, convenient for both Bodmin and my onward journey.

Breakfast was very good, with choice of cereals/muesli/yogurt, and freshly cooked main course, worth taking time over, and I was on time for my morning meeting. Dinner was from a small menu, but welcome for a tired traveller. I only managed a single course, but it was hot and tasty. The room was clean, fresh, with a comfortable bed. Good value, though a little dated, and with a small en-suite and shower.

Good for the price, but could be improved easily.

Easy to find location in sympathetically restored period buildings with good parking. Bed was very comfy and Breakfast choice and freshness of ingredients was good. Staff were friendly and all areas were clean and warm. Wifi clear and strong throughout. Overall convenient option for shorter stays.

Location is right beside busy A-road with trucks speeding past at all hours just feet away from many rooms, so having any window open in the bedroom was very noisy. Room itself was okay if a touch cramped. TV was one of the smallest I've ever seen and only three out of 20 channels worked due to poor signal. Shower cubicle was also incredibly small with weak electric shower and the complimentary toiletries were sparce, a small roundel of traditional soap and 2 x small individual sachets of poor quality shampoo only, barely enough for one average head of hair between both of them. Coffee sachets in room were of the worst instant powder possibly ever tasted by humans! Knobs apparently removed from radiators so guests could not adjust temperature themselves? Food and drink portions were not overly generous. Little thought seems given to decorative accessories and atmosphere throughout property, when much more could have been made of the property/region's heritage for example, at small cost. Was left with the feeling proprietors are attempting to operate on a strict budget and save money wherever possible - at the expense of what could be a much nicer guest experience with little extra effort or investment.

Trehellas Hotel Review.

The staff were friendly and, in general, accommodating. The bed was very comfortable. The WiFi was easy to connect to. Apart from a couple of minor points as detailed below, i would certainly recommend this hotel.

The shower was over the bath but had no anti slip mat to stand on in the bath, making it very slippery. The shower itself lacked any power/pressure. I had to do some work in the morning, i asked if I could extend my booking out from 10:30 to 12. I was told a straight no because the cleaning staff came in at 10:30. There was no attempt to accommodate my request. I ended up having to work in the hotel lounge for a couple of hours before leaving the hotel at 12:30..

Wonderful Hotel, Excellent Staff, Exquisite Food

The hotel was very clean, light and airy. We had a very large room, plenty of space. The staff were all very friendly, helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. There was always plenty of food which was very well cooked and very well presented. There was always a very friendly, relaxed and homely atmosphere throughout our stay. We will come back again.

The food was absolutely excellent and goid value for money! The staff are all warm and friendly and nothing was too big for them. The location just outside Bodmin, was great, as it was so central. The room was basic but clean and tidy with a kettle, and hairdryer

Beautiful Cornwall Break

The house was a beautiful old cornish building, decorated in keeping with its age. The room was huge, the king sized bed was very comfortable, as was all the seating provided. We had no problems with the WIFI or TV signals. Both the breakfast and evening meals were delicious. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. There was plenty of space for parking.

As OAP's the only thing we had a problem with were the two deep steps in our room from the bed to the seating area. A hand rail would have been handy.

The Girls Getaway

The staff were helpful and friendly. They let us drop our luggage off in the morning and as I have mobility issues they took my luggage to my room. Also after dinner the waitress took me to my ground floor room which was in the Annexe. Rooms were clean, beds very comfy.

Shower over bath.. would have preferred a rectangular walk in shower. Behind the curtain there was plaster peeling away. Would have liked Cornish tea not PG or Tetley.

Helpfullness of staff and owner

Room was somewhat cramped and lacked appropriately positioned accessories. Example kettle lead did not reach socket when positioned on window area (obvious position) Had to put in tiny area by bed to reach socket. Not enough pillows for two people - ok for me as a single occupant.

Good location for an overnight stay on your travels!

Room was spotless, small but adequate although a old building with history it is needing a paintwork refresh. Our stay was to attend a wedding close by so the hotel location was perfect for that and exactly where expected. We stayed in a room in the exterior building and the downstairs guests were very noisy slamming doors. Ideal for a one night stay.

Breakfast service was a bit chaotic,. Very lovely waitress who took our order, writing everything down but was not on top of keeping the continental table topped up as there had been one variety of juice on offer but an empty jug sitting. Cooked breakfast was good although we were almost finished when the waitress appeared and we reminded her we were still waiting for our tea & coffee. I asked for Earl Grey as it was on the menu and my husband asked for a black coffee, we received regular tea and a white coffee. Thankfully we like and drink both so we made no fuss as we were at the end of our meal. Although we did have to remind her we did not receive our toast either which she duly got minus the marmalade
