The hotel was ideally located for me being close to the railway station. I was expected a characterless modern hotel without staff but was very happily surprised when I found it to be the opposite.
My only criticism is that the toiletries were meagre.

I booked a single room for two nights towards the end of June. The Reception team was friendly and advised me about the parking arrangements when I arrived.
You can park anywhere, but must give your registration at reception to avoid being issued any parking charges. Direct access to the hotel is from the car park at the back and another pedestrian entrance at the front. I was allocated room 111 which is a short walk from the lift at the back of the hotel. It’s a corner room so has three windows and is light and airy. it’s a very spacious room and could accommodate a double bed. There is a large desk, and a fan was provided which was great on the warm days.
The bed was comfortable, if a little soft for me. Tea and coffee-making facilities are provided.
The wardrobe has ample storage, and there is a separate bathroom with a full bath and with a shower over.
The room is spotlessly clean. It’s a quiet room and also in a quiet area. Despite being close to the train station, you could hardly hear any noise. It was a five-minute walk to local takeaways and about a 20-minute walk to the town centre. There is a Tesco Express around the corner which is great for Food and drink.
The hotel also has an on-site bar with a selection of bottled and canned drinks, including alcohol. I’m told this range is due to expand shortly. I would stay here again in future.
The bed was comfortable, if a little soft for me.

Staff were amazing and very polite and respectful. Thank you.
They could be prepared at 7am for breakfast. The coffee machine and toaster were not turned on at 7am and the Orange juice was empty for 4 days, until I requested them to change for new box. Additionally, my room had moths constantly! I did report this at the end of my stay, I wasn’t complaining… but wanted to draw the attention to this for fumigation if needed or pest control?

arrival at the hotel was ok, the booking guy , sorted us out , took our car details and advised us of the floor we need in the lift. all within 5 mins.
arrival at the hotel was a tad stressful, there are two hotels with same name, unfortunately we went to the wrong one first. when we arrived at the correct hotel, was told that the issue I had was very common, and that it had happened a few times earlier with other guests. The room was dated, but we were only there 2 nights. The beds were way to soft, The hotel is right on a busy road, very noisy at night. Then to top the whole experience. We register the car with reception the first evening we arrived,. Then 7 days later, we received a letter from a parking enforcement team, saying we were parked illegally, thus we has a PCN for £70 we needed to sort out.

The hotel has been closed to paying guests for several years, and therefore looks a little tired. The room however was clean and comfortable and enabled me to have a good night's sleep before my early start in the morning. For the price I pais I could not really grumble.
As explained the hotel is a little tired but should not detract from the stay.

There was nothing that I liked
Everything. There was no lock from the inside on my room door, the spindle was there but no lock. I asked to be moved with a room with a lock, but the reception man said that there wasn’t any rooms with locks from the inside. I didn’t feel safe as there were groups of men hanging about. I was a lone woman. Stair carpet worn right through and shabby. There were big chips out of the enamel bath tub. The kettle was filthy and I wouldn’t use it. The carpet was sticky. The curtains and nets had definitely seen better days and were out of shape. The wardrobe door didn’t close properly. The lighting was very poor. The toilet was dirty. If I had a dog, I wouldn’t put it in there. It was late when I got there, i had already paid for it and too late to try to book somewhere else. I am going to try and cancel my next booking as I had already paid for two separate dates, not knowing before hand how bad it was. I felt dirty staying there. It’s a shame, as it looks good from the outside. Terrible experience.

Closeness to the railway station, I'm certified blind and the receptionist guided me to my room on my first time going to my room. The meal I had for my evening meal was very good.
I couldn't get an early morning phone call, as there was no phone in the room. I left before breakfast as it was a continental one being served after 6:00.

Not to noisy (though there was people panic buying fuel next door so car horns sounding every now and then)
If you like ghosts, enjoy they have them
Warm,
Good lighting,
Lift for disabled or heavy luggage access.
Parking!
Close to train station and places to get food and drinks,
petrol station next door,
main road easy to get to access.
polite and hard working clears who respected requests to not enter a room for coivd safety! VERY GOOD
Great breakfast (minus the Mess)
Great chocolate machine!
The breakfast area was dirty and some women were wondering around it touching and picking up food with their bear hands which was a bit off putting. The hot tap didn't work so i couldn't turn it on to use it. it took me 10mins to figure out how to turn the shower on.
Eggs took a long time to come when ordering them.

Did not like having our booking cancelled a few days before our stay. No reason given, though we found out they had received a better contract.

We arrived very late, but both reception and the bar were open. Check in was super quick and we were shown to our spotless room, with a promise of the bar staying open for us, which it did! Beds super comfy, tea and coffee facilities in the room, lovely toiletries in the bathroom. Breakfast is self serve, cereals, toast, full english selection, and was included in the price.

Staff were great... beds very soft and comfortable
Room position and was very basic. The shower seems to be on a boiler system and went very hot and cold and not very powerful at all.
Breakfast very expensive for the buffet it is. There was very little there.. they didnt restock and it was only 8am in the morning.
