I don’t understand why this hotel does not have a 9+ rating on booking. This was a 10 for sure for us. We felt it from the first day and even after a few days we were even more convinced that it is a 10. I will wrote a few things we liked and also address some of the negative I read in the previous review that I don’t understand. Great things: - sandy beach with clear water. Some people were complaining that there are stones and pebbles on the beach. Well, this is 99% of Greece, stones and pebbles beaches. This was way better than what we usually experience in Greece. - the pools were great for children but also for adults that are older. They had steps not stairs to enter the pool. Bonus is the fact that the pool is less with chorine and more salty water. More healthy. - the service was unbelievable from the minute we arrived until we left. Every tiny thing we said we didn’t pike they change it immediately or if they couldn’t they would give us something in return. For example we did not know that any drink including water had a cost during dinners. When we said we did not know, they explained and they offered all water for free for that night for our table. Plus the first night they gave us free beer because the forgot to put a baby cot in the room which they immediately changed once we said - the food was spectacular for a half board. New desserts every day. Sushi night. Pizza with a great oven every day. Variety every day. Some people complained in other reviews about the food, well…, you really have to be picky to not find things to like. And again, this is a buffet restaurant. For a buffet it was awesome. - rooms are new and with a spectacular view - close to a cute old town with a harbor - the overall area is well kept with tons of flowers and tres - a special pool and area for kids with shows and food for the kids. Also, they gave free food for our baby at lunch.
The A/C made the room too cold but for summer you can always open the window and the room will instantly get some heat in case cold is not your thing. Other than that nothing.

Good infrastructure, rooms are confortable. Most of the staff are very kind, other than the pool staff managing towels and pool beds which were consistently rude and disrespectful.
So many things went wrong to ensure we wont be returning to grecotel. 1- almost inexistent night entertainment, there is basically nothing to do after dinner, occasionally there some music playing in the pool lounge but there are no near enough tables so impossible to enjoy it… super boring hotel at night. 2- even with the luxme package: lunch options are limited to 2 venues, the menu has the same 6 dishes every day, it was ridiculous we were basically eating the same every lunch.. no buffet at lunch and no menu renovation between days. 3- grecoland kids club has nice staff, but instead of taking the kids to the pool, since its 30+ degrees all day, they keep them drawing in a worm place with roof ventilators! They organized a kids marathon at noon! With 30+ degrees, if we wanted our kid to be worm under the sun instead of at the beach or pool we would not have booked a beach resort.. 4- the air conditioning broke in the room of our elderly parents and was out for over 24hs, we had to escalate far to get their room changed, once the problem reached the hotel manager it was fixed, but it took several discussions and escalations with the reception, concierge and customer relations management until we had no option to escalate in written to the general hotel manager, who was super diligent at fixing our problem. This prevented us enjoying our first 2 days in the hotel. 5- the overall food quality is average at best. Nothing special, as days go by this is noticeable, there are no real cheffs working here like in other greek resorts we have been at… some dishes taste and look cheap. 6- no near enough sunbeds in the pool areas.. if management walks around the pool they will notice lots of families frustrated with the fact that they cannot get a sunbed, hotel knows about this but it seems to be by design.
