Barceló Punta Umbría Beach Resort

Facilities are good if you have young children. Our one year old enjoyed the splash pad a lot. But it gets soooo crowded in the pools and hard to get a sunbed. We had meals included. They were standard and good. Many options.

At least soft drinks should be included with the full pension. also, it is a very kid friendly hotel but there was live music in front of our room till 12:00 am. Was our baby the only one sleeping at that time? I find this a bit insane

The staff are the highlight for sure, from the animators to the general workers we got mostly warmth and a sense of wanting to help, staff feels proud of their work and the hotel is a well oiled and run machine. Overall this is a cool stay for families but ….

This is our fourth stay over a few years. Price keeps getting higher, it’s gotten pretty steep over the last couple years and we’re pretty sure it’s not worth it anymore so this is most likely our last stay. We we keep getting worst rooms, farther away from the bars/pools and this year not even a balcony to hang out. The “all in” package is ok but beverages are mostly from bulk or low cost brands. The food is good but gets repetitive fast. The hotel is well maintained overall but its starting to show it’s age and feeling somewhat outdated in some places.

We liked the breakfast and also the dynamic of the hotel, the staff are very friendly!

We didn't like the price of the park and also the security of the park, we find in the dinning room the Ketchup out of dated! There are to many people in the resort! We think the resort is more near the beach! The builds are not well identify!

The area is huge! Like a small town within a town. Beautiful swimming pools and area around them. Some of the staff were super nice and helpful. People working at the bar, security guys, cleaners. Looks like local people stay here.

People working at the reception are arrogant and absolutely unhelpful. Simple requests like bringing a plug for a bath tab, or bringing "Do not disturb" sign were simply ignored. I rarely see such an attitude in Spain. Food at breakfast and dinner doesn't have any flavor. It is very plain - similar to what you get in hotels in Central Europe. Also if you pay for a dinner - you only get water. No sodas included. I brougt a can of ice tea with me, and a waiter tried to scold me for that. I asked to explain this in English, she couldn't and backed off. In general, staff in the dining room is looking sharply, so noone takes that valuable soda from the machines. Disgusting. I strongly recommend eating elsewhere. Same goes for staying at this place.
