Good hotel in a great location

The location of the hotel was great -- walking distance to everything you might want but outside of the noise and stress of a tourist center. The room was a decent size and overall the facilities were nice. We also appreciated the parking lot on the premises.

Hotel staff oscillated between very nice and helpful and completely indifferent, depending on with whom you were interacting.

Superb stay

The Hotel was spotlessly clean. Breakfast had a mixture of hot and cold foods and a selection of pastries. The room was large with plenty of storage space and the bed was super comfy. The Hotel is only a 5 minute walk to the centre of Desenzano Del Garda and very convenient for catching boats to other parts of the lake.

Good but rooms need a refresh

The Hotel is in a great position - halfway between the train station and town. Most of the staff are lovely, very helpful and the breakfast is good. The pool area is also great and there is a nice lounge/bar area. The room was spotlessly clean and was serviced daily and toiletries/tissues etc. replaced.

We have stayed at this hotel 4 times before, always booked a superior room and always had a room overlooking the pool. This time booked a superior room (no option to specify pool view) and were given a room at the side - overlooking the road which didn’t feel superior. The room was very clean but tired - needs a lick of paint. The towels were hard and some were threadbare. The pillows were very hard. There were very few plug points and the only mirror other than the bathroom was inside the wardrobe. The room is meant to be soundproofed but we could hear everything going on outside and people talking/coughing or using the bathrooms in the surrounding rooms. There was also a lot of noise above - like furniture being moved about. I would say if you are booking a room here, specify a pool view - from memory those rooms were a lot nicer and quieter.

Incredible, beautiful hotel

One of the nicest hotels in Italy we’ve stayed in. BIG clean room that was dark and quiet at night. Nice pool open until sundown. Close 15 min downhill walk from the train station and 10 min to Desenzano city center. I used the hotel bikes which were decent: 10 euro deposit which you get back. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of food and you can sit outside by the pool. Final morning there was a train strike and the manager went above and beyond to make sure we got our train on time!

A fabulous stay. Great value for money.

Great hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a nice relaxed atmosphere. They offered a free yoga class on the Tuesday morning which was great. Great breakfast options and a very pleasant vibe in the breakfast area. A good mix of people in the hotel.

Would be great if the hotel offered more food options. It wasn’t bad at all but could be better. Especially for vegetarians.

Amazing hotel, for us it was a perfect stay for Lake Garda. We will be back.

Everything was excellent. Very clean and good breakfast. The location was amazing less than 10 mins walk to train station and 5 mins to ferry port. Very good black out blinds (room was pitch black when pulled) and Aircon. Supermarket just round the corner. Pizza cafe (with way better pizza’s than the ones served on lake front) across the road. The swimming pool was very well maintained, we went everyday and we always got a sun bed. Staff very helpful, arranged a taxi transfer for us back to the airport and even gave us a breakfast to take as we had an early flight!

Minor issue: The pool towels could be renewed. Some of them had holes in it.

A lovely family run hotel, clean, well maintained with friendly staff. The food was delicious - breakfast, lunch, cocktails. Just a short walk to the lakeside shops & restaurants or the train station. Free underground parking.

Wonderful hotel & town - would definitely go back

Our room had a balcony overlooking the pool which was lovely. My son raved about the breakfasts! So much choice & you could even boil your own eggs. Friendly staff. Good location, short walk to the centre of Desenzano

Lovely break in Desenzano

The hotel was in a good position to walk down to the town centre in 5 minutes and also up to the station in 10 minutes. Lovely pool, large room, excellent breakfast with plenty of choice and the staff were really helpful and friendly.

A true pearl

Friendly staff that is not superficial and respects your vocation tranquility. Great location and facilities. We had three rooms in different sizes but were all very comfortable and clean. Brekfast and lunch were good, we prefered lunch on the veranda by the pool to not waste time from our sunbathing. I will not look for another hotel when I return to Desenzano, I will stay at Hotel Nationale

Great hotel and would have doubts in recommending or returning

Great hotel, very clean and modern. Reception staff friendly and welcoming. Lovely pool with plenty of sun beds. Great location 5 minutes walk from the centre and lakeside and approx 15 minutes walk to the railway station.

Breakfast was below average in my opinion compared to other hotels I have stayed in in both Italy and across the world. Limited selection, slow at restocking and staff were ok but rarely smiled and never cleared used items from the tabled until you left.

The hotel is rated as 3 stars but everything about it from facilities and staff , breakfast, pool , very close to town only fe minutes walk and you are in the centre of everything. It was absolutely amazing.. I will definitely be back and I recommend anyone to try the hospitality and the comfort. The cleaning ladies and reception staff were so kind and make you feel welcome.

Very clean and very good cleaning services. Very nice, friendly and helpful staff. Good location, in the middle between train station and center. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Good room size. Balcony. Very clean bathroom, great water temperature, pressure, and drainage. Good breakfast, espresso. No gluten, low sugar, low fat, whole grain food available at breakfast.

Windows could be more isolated to reduce noise from cars for the rooms on the side, even though it's low traffic, it's not a big issue, but could be a problem for people with sleeping issues. TV could not be connected to the internet to use apps like netflix. Breakfast could rotate food, maybe they did it by the week, but we stayed 7 days and had 90% of the same foods available, even though they have good variety. More vegetables available at breakfast would be great.

April 25 - beautiful walks

Great welcome from the team, friendly attentive service. Clearly took pride in knowing every guest, you never had to give your room no. for your key. Breakfast both hot & continental very decent. Nice pool area, clean and modern. Large bedrooms. 3-5 mins walk to the centre which has old charm. Ferry port 3 mins walk with routes to South East of the lake: Sirmeone, Garda & Bardalino. Didn't go further North due to ferry durations of 3-5 hours. It's a big lake!

Fantastic hotel in a lovely town

Fantastic little hotel, only a very short walk to the centre of the town. Well presented interior and rooms, the family room that we had was very spacious. Loved the breakfast in a morning, sitting out on the veranda overlooking the pool. The pool area itself was spotlessly clean, and there was more than enough sun beds for everyone. Free parking was a bonus. As for Desenzano, what a delightful place, very beautiful and with loads of restaurants, bars and shops. And all excellent value... we expected high prices, but all the meals and drinks were cheaper than you would expect to pay in the UK. Would highly recommend the sunset boat tour around Sirmione. Finally, the hotel staff were all extremely friendly.

Staff are very friendly, hotel is relatively small but the facilities are great. Pool is very clean and we never had a problem finding space. Breakfast is ok but the staff are very friendly and cannot do enough to help.
