Lovely Pool grounds and great breakfast but AC is questionable

Room was modern and uncluttered. Breakfast was great and pool area was lovely.

I had purposely booked a hotel with pool and AC as we were travelling with teens and wanted to ensure we were comfortable in case there was a heat wave. Upon entering the hotel, it was pretty stuffy and our room, even more so. The AC would not go lower than about 27 degrees even after ensuring doors and curtains closed. Being in a small, stuffy, and warm room with four people was not what I had in mind or paid for. When I questioned this to staff, I was given a BS reason that they kept it at certain temp as they didn't want to risk legionella disease. Wow. And by some miracle, that same afternoon, I was able to decrease the AC to a more comfortable temp. I understand you want to save costs but having spending a good chunk of money to ensure comfort, I would expect a decent AC and not being fed a ridiculous reason for controlling the temp.

Overpriced and underwhelming

Falls Short of a 3-Star Hotel – Overpriced and Underwhelming This hotel doesn’t meet the basic standards you’d expect from a 3-star property. • 🛏️ Rooms were old and tired, lacking essential amenities. No tea or coffee facilities, no complimentary water, and only one towel provided for the entire stay — despite having a pool. • ❄️ Air conditioning was ineffective, barely cooling the room below 25°C. • 🔑 Room design was disruptive — doors were right next to the beds, so you’re woken up every time someone comes or goes with loud keys and banging doors. • ⏰ Check-in was strictly enforced with no flexibility, even if you arrived just slightly early. 💡 At a minimum, a 3-star hotel should provide: • A clean, updated room with basic in-room refreshments • Functional air conditioning • Adequate towels and toiletries • A comfortable, quiet night’s sleep • Reasonable flexibility at check-in Sadly, this hotel delivered none of that. The experience felt more like a budget hostel than a mid-range hotel. Not worth the price — I wouldn’t stay again.

The breakfast was excellent — fresh, varied, and very tasty. The location is convenient.

The room had a strong chemical smell upon arrival (likely chlorine), which couldn’t be ventilated properly. The bed was creaky, and the mattresses were uneven, making it difficult to sleep comfortably. The toilet made loud noises when flushed.

It's not worth the money, even for just one night's stay.

The hotel is well-located: just a 20-minute walk from the city center and very close to the lake, offering a gorgeous landscape.

The rooms are quite outdated. The wardrobe had an unpleasant smell, and the room itself smelled like an old building. The hair dryer was very old and unusable: it resembled just a tube, not a proper hairdryer.

Good and peaceful location with helpful staff.

The real life didnt quite meet the pictures on the booking website. Room was really really small and air conditioning was really loudy, it didnt sound normal at all. We traveled as a couple and Gardesana offered us a bed to sleep in but really nothing else. Also they didnt have a restaurant offering dinner.

Superb

Great location, very close to restaurants and Lake Garda. Clean and tidy rooms. The pool and sunbeds are amazing. The pool bar was also open. Accepted to the apartment together with a pet (dog), for which we are very grateful. Breakfast was very good.

The only minus is the environmental supervisor, who for unknown reasons started cleaning the environment very loud at 7 am. in the morning and at 11 p.m. in the evening, which really disturbed calm sleep. Staff have been asked to fix this issue. Everything else was perfect.

The airco in our room didn’t work while it was really hot inside and we where traveling with a 2 year old child. Bathroom wasn’t clean. And hotel staff and management couldn’t be bothered with our issues and weren’t friendly.

A pleasant and beautiful vacation in Riva del Garda

The hotel was close to all facilities, the lake is right next to the hotel, the staff is very friendly, the room was fine, clean, the breakfast was good, there is parking for the car. I would recommend the hotel.

Comfortable spot from which to explore the beautiful Riva.

Helpful staff, clean room and nice view of the mountains from my room. Delicious and fulsome brekky. Close to good restaurants and shops and lake, but a 15 or so minute enjoyable walk to the historic part of town.

Passable

The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the main part of the town and this is reflected in the price, as it is cheaper than hotels in the town! The pool area (and pool) were lovely and the breakfast was great!

The room was very poorly laid out, and we couldn't open our suitcases without tripping over them. The main light switch only worked if the light switch above the bed was switched a certain way. You can't control the air conditioning and it also switches off for a few hours every night to allow the motor to cool down! The bathroom was extremely dated and the shower was the smallest shower I'd ever seen!! While we were there it rained every day and there was nowhere to hang our clothes in the room, and no way of controlling the air con to help dry them. The WiFi only worked about 50% of the time. If you need an adaptor for your plug, then you won't be able to plug your phone in beside the bed because it hits against the light switch so it constantly flashes on and off. While the price is good value for Riva del Garda, it's still overpriced.
