Disappointing

Nice location interesting history and saunas were lovely and great breakfast

We booked a room with seaviews and double doors , comfy couch and a table on the balcony and ended up with a partial seaviews , one window , no couch and small table on balcony. On the second day there was a wedding, kitchen was restricted for that day and the party went on until 1 am. We complaint about the room which was charged out I high season cost over 440 a night, wrong room provided and also complaint about the wedding. In all fairness if there is a wedding and you know there be loud music until 1 am and the kitchen is not available, at least update the guest , and provide the option at least they could choose to cancel the booking. The price was overrated for a small room with half looking at a wall and trees instead of the Seaview promised. After talking to general manager about it they offered a 80.- refund for the noise and 2 bottles of water. For a such a high star hotel and history of being in the hotel industry for 9 generations , we have never felt so disappointed and stressed after not being able to sleep, the relaxing weekend turned quickly to a let’s get the hell out of here and never return. Sad to have spent a lot of money for poor managment of the events ( wedding)surely planned months ago and not informing alte as y booked guest. Pillows were very small and uncomfortable and no coffee machine or even a tea maker in the room for such a high star hotel with according to history a generational passing on . We definately will not return to that place

Traditional hotel which could benefit from a few minor modifications regarding service.

The lido at this hotel is a must do experience - like stepping back in time. Excellent location right on the lake.

Service in the restaurant is always a bit hit and miss which is disappointing and not in line with the service throughout the rest of the hotel.

Hotel wonderful - only broken chairs at pool

Location and food were exceptional as were the staff. Parking was very easy and appreciated.

It was quite warm in the room so a fan in the bedroom would have made it more comfortable. We changed our plans one day to spend the day at the pool/lake. Unfortunately there were not very many chairs available and yet there were piles of broken chairs. The staff said they did not have the parts to fix them. We had to use broken ones for most of the day and my daughter sat on the ground. And others coming into the facility were constantly on the hunt for chairs that were not broken. That was highly disappointing and I would have expected more/better from such a top notch hotel. I was very sorry that we cancelled our plans for that.

I’m not going back again… it reminds me of the mansion from Resident Evil 1

1) There was no A/C it felt like we were in a steam room while we were sleeping. 2) The food was so terrible. 3) The building is so old it needs some renovation. 4) WiFi is bad… so slow 5) The shower gel smells like olive oil… ugh. 6) The town was not worth the visit… I’d rather staying at Meersburg.

It’s lake front, with a park right next to it. The dining rooms are beautiful with fantastic view of the lake. Nice sauna and spa service.

The furnishings in the room are outdated. Could use a facelift.

Beautiful hotel, very friendly

Beautiful hotel on the lakeside. For a large hotel, the welcome was very personal with a glass of local fizz on arrival. The staff go out of their way to be helpful. Short 2km walk to the island of Lindau along the lake.

Paying to park in the hotel car park! It's not a low cost hotel and not in a city centre so the extra €11 to park seems petty

Beautiful hotel - worst service ever experienced

The hotel was beautifully situated next to the lake. The hotel have a nice terrace with direct view over the lake. There was a nice park at the hotel with art and adorable houses.

We booked 3 rooms for one night (6 people). The staff was arrogant and unfriendly from we arrived. Everything was difficult and they created many reservations, including referring to a test center in town. However, the center was closed upon arrival (we specifically asked) and suddenly they could perform the test at the hotel. There were almost no guests at the hotel. Nevertheless, they only barely managed to squeeze us into the restaurant (designed for 50+ guests). As the time was 8 pm they could only serve 2 out of 3 courses for us. Afterwards sitting on the terrace, we were asked to leave (not due to COVID but due to noice!) at midnight (4 adults talking on a Friday evening). Overall we did not experience any service at all. None of us enjoyed the stay. Except from one (new) member of the staff at the breakfast it appears that it is the whole culture of the hotel’s staff that is the real problem. Completely different from all other stays we have had in Germany as we have always experienced outstanding service.

Eine einzigartige Diva mit Falten

Machen wir uns nichts vor: Das Bad Schachen ist eine Diva, bei der es gehörig bröckelt. Ja, vielleicht waren die Zimmer ziemlich klein, der Fahrstuhl aus den 1970ern, und die Bäder vermutlich auch. Aber was ist das alles gegen diese LAGE, diese Stimmung im Park und in den Salons, in denen jeden Moment Romy Schneider und Winston Churchill um die Ecke biegen könnten. Wir jedenfalls waren schockverliebt ab der ersten Minute, hatten einen atemberaubenden Blick auf den See und Lindau im Morgendunst, eine kostbare Stille mit Wellenglucksen und Seevögeln und ein fürstliches Frühstück mit Silberbesteck und Seidentapeten. Ganz sicher werden wir wiederkommen.

Schockverliebte sehen keine wackeligen Armaturen und hören keine rumpelige Dampfheizung. Waren die Möbel ein wenig abgenutzt? Egal. Alles, einfach alles war wunderbar!

zeer goede locatie, mooie omgeving ondanks het slechte weer ruime junior suite met vele opbergkasten, knus salon en goede badkamer. In de mooie inloopdouche ontbreken een badmat in de douche en handvaten( belangrijk voor oudere gasten). Uitgebreid ontbijt. Zeer vriendelijk personeel

bij half board gedurende een week steeds dezelfde kaart( eten wel lekker). Geheel is prachtig doch de technische gedeelten dienen een upgrade te krijgen( verwarming/airco,T.V.)

Het was een heerlijk hotel!

We hadden half pension en wat tegenviel was dat er iedere keer dezelfde menukeuze was (uitgezonderd één avond bbq). Het eten was erg lekker, maar de keuze was heel beprkt zodat we toch een paar keer hetzelfde gerecht moesten kiezen.

Baden in luxe.

Prachtig gelegen aan de Bodensee met zicht op Lindau Insel. Super ontbijt. Uitermate vriendelijk personeel. Magnifiek zwembad met toegang tot het meer. Heerlijk binnenbad met moderne kleine sauna. Direct bij het hotel was een bushalte met n snelle verbinding naar centrum en eiland.

Het weer was slecht. Dankzij binnenbad en sauna nog fijne dagen van kunnen maken. Op de kamer was geen airco.

Liegen waren an 1-2 Tagen alle kaputt, das war echt nervig weil sich alle um die wenig verfügbaren Liegen gestritten haben und man dadurch mit dem Handtuch im Gras liegen musste, was für 4 Sterne Verhältnisse nicht unbedingt das ist was man erwarten würde
