Hotel Bad Schachen

Nice location interesting history and saunas were lovely and great breakfast

We booked a room with seaviews and double doors , comfy couch and a table on the balcony and ended up with a partial seaviews , one window , no couch and small table on balcony. On the second day there was a wedding, kitchen was restricted for that day and the party went on until 1 am. We complaint about the room which was charged out I high season cost over 440 a night, wrong room provided and also complaint about the wedding. In all fairness if there is a wedding and you know there be loud music until 1 am and the kitchen is not available, at least update the guest , and provide the option at least they could choose to cancel the booking. The price was overrated for a small room with half looking at a wall and trees instead of the Seaview promised. After talking to general manager about it they offered a 80.- refund for the noise and 2 bottles of water. For a such a high star hotel and history of being in the hotel industry for 9 generations , we have never felt so disappointed and stressed after not being able to sleep, the relaxing weekend turned quickly to a let’s get the hell out of here and never return. Sad to have spent a lot of money for poor managment of the events ( wedding)surely planned months ago and not informing alte as y booked guest. Pillows were very small and uncomfortable and no coffee machine or even a tea maker in the room for such a high star hotel with according to history a generational passing on . We definately will not return to that place

The lido at this hotel is a must do experience - like stepping back in time. Excellent location right on the lake.

Service in the restaurant is always a bit hit and miss which is disappointing and not in line with the service throughout the rest of the hotel.

Location and food were exceptional as were the staff. Parking was very easy and appreciated.

It was quite warm in the room so a fan in the bedroom would have made it more comfortable. We changed our plans one day to spend the day at the pool/lake. Unfortunately there were not very many chairs available and yet there were piles of broken chairs. The staff said they did not have the parts to fix them. We had to use broken ones for most of the day and my daughter sat on the ground. And others coming into the facility were constantly on the hunt for chairs that were not broken. That was highly disappointing and I would have expected more/better from such a top notch hotel. I was very sorry that we cancelled our plans for that.

Far away. Old type rooms No air conditioning . No kettle to make coffee No usb ports They gave one bottle of water for 4 days stay in the middle of the summer!

Over looking the lake

the rooms were very poor and small and basic and over priced for what they were

1) There was no A/C it felt like we were in a steam room while we were sleeping. 2) The food was so terrible. 3) The building is so old it needs some renovation. 4) WiFi is bad… so slow 5) The shower gel smells like olive oil… ugh. 6) The town was not worth the visit… I’d rather staying at Meersburg.

Beautiful hotel, with very an amazing view of the lake. Very helpful staff! Super breakfast and dinner.

It’s lake front, with a park right next to it. The dining rooms are beautiful with fantastic view of the lake. Nice sauna and spa service.

The furnishings in the room are outdated. Could use a facelift.
