An intimate, memorable, unique boutique hotel. Will remain as my go-to hotel in Bern!

A very intimate, memorable, unique-feeling boutique hotel. Our guest room was thoughtfully appointed with everything we needed to feel comfortable for a six night stay. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Although maybe a 25 minute walk to the city center, the #21 bus to the Bern Bahnhof drives by relentlessly and the hotel provides guest with a free pass for all Bern buses and trams.

I wish it were a little more affordable, but, so it goes in Switzerland. Honestly, I have no criticism of the property.

An expensive mistake booking this hotel.

Unfortunatley nothing.

This was a disaster for us. No evening restaurant on a Sunday or Monday, the nights that we were staying. The alternative offered was a bus ride into the City. You needed to be able to download an app onto your phone to be able to avail yourself of the free transport, which we weren't prepared for. The room offered was tired and very dated, likened by my wife to being in a circus. The whole place has a musky smell about it, which she best described as resembling an old person's wardrobe. She refused to stay. The receptionist tried her best by offering a room upgrade, but my wife had made up her mind she was not staying.

The convenient location- 5 mins by bus to the old town, the helpful and friendly staff ,the free Bus pass for duration of stay, the cleanliness of the hotel and the beautiful decorated hotel.

heritage stye jazz hotel, returning regularly since the 90's. one of the best places to stay in bern especially if you arrive by car.

the fine restaurant it once had is closed in mondays, unfortunate but understandable due to exploding costs for energy and staff. signs of the time.

This was our first visit. We plan to return when the jazz program begins.

Spacious, great views of the Swiss mountains and city, easy parking, clean, well trained staff. There is an old-world elegance to the decor epitomised by the founder, Marianne, from whom we learnt how the jazz connection came about. A short ( free) bus ride took us into the city centre.

INDEED UNIQUE !!

not only UNIQUE by name but TRULLY! and I make myself clear... What makes it unique was firstly the personnel (all of the them and specially Stefanie!) eager to help in everything(they even responded immediately for a small problem with coffe machine) , for the parking place , for information needed etc. Secondly the decoration, the atmosphere and the background music (which was very well chosen and could be heard all over the hotel) makes it so relaxing and warm-cosy Another thing is the location which is so quiet, with the garden around and only 15 min walking from city center! In the spacy room there were many facilities ,coffe machine, closet, welcome tray with apples and water! , many towels., VERY comfortable mattress and pillows.. , tasty furniture and table, TV, fridge, nice view with big windows and other... the entrance,the floors and the restaurant area was very well decorated mainly with objects related to jazz history and music.. making the stay very pleasant... the bus stop is opposite the hotel for those interested in. the food at the restaurant was very good Everywhere was extremely clean!

nothing really ... only the faucet in the bathroom was a little leaky we didn't have breakfast so I can't say about it.

It was an excellent base for the walking tour we did of Bern. Older, but unique, cozy and clean.

Front desk staff was super kind and helpful. Top notch. Also, breakfast staff was so helpful, explaining the local foods, etc, and offering refills even though we sat and worked at breakfast for a long time. The free transit ticket made hotel a great base for our walking tour of Anabaptist sites in Bern.

we had designated a room with a view of mountains on bookings.com, but first floor the view was blocked by trees. But it was rainy, so it didn't bother us much. The great staff more than made up for that.

The room was nice

The receptionist was rude, inefficient. Checking in took so long and checking out was even longer and yet there was no other client that she was serving but me. She appeared not to know what she was doing.

Awful and disrespectful client service.

The property is very charming and in a beautiful location. Dinner was excellent.

I experienced an awful situation at the check out. The receptionist told me that they had not received booking advanced payment, and gave all kind of excuses and wanted be to pay again even after showing the booking.com receipt! I had to call Booking.com to solve after almost 30 minutes of arguing and waiting for the manager to come. Manager did NOTHING. This experience spoiled my stay. Will not return.

Nice to visit

This place has an amazing view of the city and mountains. You can take a breakfast on the terrace and enjoy the view. The hotel also provided me and my family with an unlimited ticket for public transport in the city and the surrounding area for the duration of our stay. Personal were super polite and friendly. We enjoyed our stay here and it's a strong 10!
