There aren’t many options to stay on the island, and this worked out very well for my dad and I for 1 night. The room was large and comfortable, and we had a great view over the bay. All the staff we interacted with were kind and helpful. I would definitely recommend to stay a night if you are able - it is very cool being on the island once the day tourists leave.

The staff were very friendly.
Room looked ok out directly on to a wall. People walking by on the rampart were looking straight in to our room so we had to close curtains for privacy. The pillows were very poor quality and totally inadequate. Unable to use the overhead shower. The extraction system in the bathroom and toilet did not work. Where the tea tray was located did not have any socket which meant we had to move it to the desk or the floor which were the only sockets which could be used. The cups provided were made of plastic which produced a smell and unpleasant taste when hot water was poured in. Unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience and we were thankful it was only a one night stay.

We got to stay on Mt. St. Michele and watch the tides come in and go out.
We stayed in an "annex" of the hotel and it was a long, long up hill walk to the room. Just be aware that when they say annex, it does not mean that the room is next to nor even close to the hotel. After climbing many steps, there was no way we could hike back down to the narrow streets to go to dinner or to "see" the empty street.
The breakfast was meager to be so expensive. There were maybe 5 tablespoons of undercooked (Europe does this everywhere because this is the way they are preferred) scrambled eggs in the serving dish and we were the first customers. Only grape (weak) and apple juice.

It was beautiful, clean and romantic and had an old world romantic charm. The bathroom was updated and very nice. The room was just what we would expect and want in that environment, and even more surprising than what we felt we saw online.
We were glad we stayed on The Mont overnight so we had restaurants, walkways, and could enjoy the sunset and moonlight at The Mont without the crowds of other tourists.
There were a lot of uphill pathways and stairs so consider that if you are planning a visit.
The hotel held our luggage before and after we checked in and out. The staff were very pleasant and made restaurant suggestions. The hotel made our entire visit to The Mont very enjoyable.
We were pleased with everything.

Location
My room opened up to busy walkway at street level

Friendly staff.
Smart room, with lovely old features eg period oak shutters. Surprisingly quiet despite the island itself being very busy.
We ate in the hotel restaurant that evening and would recommend it.
The slopes and steps up to the room, which was a good distance away from the hotel reception, in a separate building. This wouldn't normally have been a problem for us but we had come by motorbike and were carrying awkward, heavy bike panniers and were overheating in bike kit!! A smallish rucksack or even a light suitcase on wheels wouldn't have caused us a problem.

Great location. It was wonderful to spend the night and avoid the crowds for a morning visit to the abbey. Window overlooked the bay which was lovely
Beds were separated.

Quaint and cozy, but also comfortable and functional. The water pressure surprisingly strong and great hot water.
It was quite hot that day. We could have used another fan or two. But it cooled down during the night.

This place is a one-of-a-kind experience, amazing architecture, history and location. Absolutely charming, with kind and helpful staff. There are few words to explain what it is like to stay in a place that has been around since the late 700's!
It was hard to drag our small luggage uphill, up stairs and through small passageways. I'd do it again, but would want to have even smaller carry-on-sized items.

Right on the Main Street on the island of Mont Saint Michel. Loved every minute of it.
No AC and it happened to be quite warm in the room.

Breakfast was hearty and good
Room was very moldy, smelled terrible, and I could not sleep, even wearing a mask. The bathroom and bed seemed ok, it was either the room itself or the ill-considered sofa that made the air unbreathable. Unfortunately i did not recognize my mistake in thinking it bearable until I returned to the room in late evening.

good location on the island. i’d you want to stay in a very old French house it’s great.
the staff is hit and miss. some are nice and helpful some ignores you especially if you don’t speak French. I think they should spend some more energy on staff education.

Staying on the island itself was special.
Of course the rooms are small, although they were modern and well appointed. Also there isn't much of a view.

Room could have used air conditioning and been slightly cleaner. Given its age and location, that wasn’t unexpected so we were happy with the room.
No air conditioning

We were 4 people so we didn't stay in the main inn, we stayed up the hill in a large room that was very nice and surprisingly large. We had breakfast and lunch at hotel and food was great. Great location, easy access. What a cool place to visit. Would definitely stay there again.
Was a little expensive, but can understand why since it's such a unique historical site. Otherwise, no complaints, this was a great place recommend it.

It was in the perfect location! Clean, comfortable beds with 4 to a room.
The room was TINY. Hard to even walk by beds.

Great location. Staff was friendly and our room was very comfortable and cozy. Though expensive, it is worth the money to be on the island after the crowds leave. It’s a whole different experience.
I have read less than flattering comments about the upstairs restaurant and didn’t eat there for that reason but the downstairs bar/dessert place was very nice and welcoming. Stays open late (10pm) for Mont St-Michel.
Lots of steps to your room but that is unavoidable if you are visiting the island.

Fantastic property. Rustic but clean. We could look out over the ocean from our window and watch the birds perching on the rooftops. Located right on the main road. It was nice to stay one night on the island because we could linger and watch the sunset. It was also nice to walk the streets without the day time crowds.
No complaints!

What an experience staying at Mont St Michel. It is very hard to select a hotel, as all hotels are old, however I chose this hotel due to the reviews. I was unaware that there is only 4 Bayview rooms. We were guided up many many stairs to our room up the back with no view of anything. We did have a little courtyard which was nice. The room was clean, the bathroom quite small but for one night it was fine.
No view!!

Charming hotel with nice staff. Very clean and lots of character. Mont St Michel is a wonder but like most places of its stature, it suffers from hordes of tourists. Staying overnight allows you to really enjoy the island at night and in the morning with only a handful of people. This hotel was perfect in that it was charming, clean, situated conveniently and the staff were nice.

Overall good place to stay for a night . Location is good. Great breakfast (not included )
Mont Saint Michele is a gem and for connoisseurs and art & history savvy and interested .
Don’t go for relax and convenience. Go for a unique experience.
If you have issues walking or any other health mobility related issues you should consider other places. Mont Saint Michele in particular is challenging and this hotel has the rooms about 600 feet from the reception, through many steps. They didn’t offer to carry luggage, which would have helped.
Also, if you are looking for American standards, this is not the place to visit. If during summer, keep in mind there is no AC.

We liked everything, it's was like a magical dream arriving on the island and staying the night.
There was nothing we didn't like about this hotel.
6.0 / 10.0
The place has a rustic charm, which we liked, and a great view over the surroundings. We were welcomed with a smile. The breakfast was of good quality, though expensive and with unfriendly service.
Wr are elderly (72 and 81) and the hotel did not suit us. It should have told us in advance we would be lodged in a remote annex requiring a really dangerous and exhausting climb along a treacherous upward path without handrails and with our heavy luggage on n hand without much help from the staff.
The hotel should have explained to us how to find our assigned parking (P3), which was almost impossible to find. Why not send a map by mail? You have to follow the signs for the coach park (!), then turn right (not that it was marked, we found out by trial and error) and only then will you see the first P3 sign. Took us preciously long.
The lady who showed us our room told us there were bottles of water in the fridge, which then turned out to be empty.

It's a lovely 3-star hotel, quite rustic but with a very atmospheric and quite sizable room.
The bed was so-so.

Great staff and great location. Would go again.
Some could perhaps nagg about the cleanliness, but this is a couple of hundred year old castle area and authentic as such. You would be stupid if you expected some Dubai style clean hotel from this.

As expected, the location was amazing. We also had a nice view from one of the windows. At times the wind was loud and the door made noise, but that was fixable by inserting a keycard into the crack in the door. And added to the charm. We planned ahead and only brought backpacks with one night of clothes. It would have been a pain dragging a suitcase up!
the area gets SO crowded during the day- website were correct that the island is "over-touristed."

location, location, location. breakfast was good.
was pretty hard for my elderly parents to get to. only amenities in the room was soap and shampoo. given the few shops on the island, a few bottles of water would be nice.

location on le Mont meant you could wander in the evening without the crowds
lugging cases up 2 flights of stairs. no lift
5.0 / 10.0
the staff was nice, location was good.
as many have complained, no one read the fine print so including myself, was surprised to be taken to another annex hotel uphill. Wasn't very happy at first but found the rooftop view quite spectacular. The room was comfortable but the little desk was a bit dusty, and there was trash in my little garden. Also, as Mont Saint Michel is very close to nature, I can find small insects like ants and myself was heavily bite by mosquitos. I guess I can't blame the hotel. Plus, the reception was kind to keep my bags but it's only at the counter or in their restaurant. It's safe but not that locker safe, if anyone would fine. I personally was fine though. All in all, as an experienced solo traveller, I've pretty much accepted these especially this is a TOURIST AREA, what can you expect? Just if you're a super clean or anxious, or can't take things easily sort of person, I'd recommend you look through everything when you look for accommodations.

Staying on mt st michel is a mystical experience and the hotel enhanced it
Nothing really unless they raze the entire city and install elevators and escalators and conveyor belts. Climbing and walking in mt set michel us part of the price one pays for the fabulous setting b
