A clean, comfortable room in a good location
Pedestrian entry to Reception from the road was up quite a long staircase with a sad, broken escalator to the side. Parking was in a dingy underground car park with direct access to the hotel but through a couple of heavy doors through dimly lit vestibules.
The staff didn’t seem very efficient. We had pre-paid for the room, but needed to pay for breakfast, parking and tourist tax on arrival. We had a card at the ready, but were told all was done. When we handed our key back in the morning we were just at the lift to the car park when we were called back and told we hadn’t paid for the extras. This was embarrassing.

It has a good location in the middle of town. The bathroom was clean with a good shower and plenty of hot water (but the soap dispensers were awkwardly placed).
The pillows were too firm and were uncomfortable. The air conditioning controls were fiddly, awkward to operate and limited to a minimum temperature of 22 degrees. It was unable to cool the room below 24 degrees making it difficult to sleep on a hot night.

A good hotel in a very good location. It has it's own parking allocation and a lift from the car park to reception and other floors. It was only a few minutes walk to a square with restaurants where we had a very pleasant meal. There was an excellent choice for breakfast.
The reception staff had limited English.

good to be able to check in early. Room was very comfortable and quiet
We did not do online check in and when we arrived there was nobody at the desk but the lady who was cleaning the restaurant signed us in and gave us the key. (lucky for us she was there) Our breakfast was included but when we arrived at 9.10, there was no empty set table and we had to find the one member of staff who had to wash up a few plates and cups for us. In the meantime we had managed to find the odd plate and cup off tables which had been vacated, but no tables had been cleared, nor were they while we were there. Some people came after us and had the same problem. The last couple who came in probably had very little choice of food because a large group who were having breakfast when we arrived, then left and filled paper bags (available) with remaining bread, brioche, croissants and several other items. I think the young lady who was 'in charge' of the breakfast was also responsible for reception. I'm sure the minimum staff works very well for the company but not so great for the customer.

Situation. Comfortable room.
Couldn’t park as there was a market that blocked the entrance to the underground parking. Had to wait until after 7.30pm.
Hotel Entrance is not the greatest and one escalator not working.

It was clean.
Entry during the evening was via buzzer system at Street level. We were left ringing the buzzer for about 15 minutes before the receptionist, who also seemed to be doubling as housekeeper, finally answered and let us in. We were concerned that the receptionist had left and that we might be stranded outside. Not a great system.

My room was the biggest Ibis room I’ve ever stayed in and it also had a “lobby” as you walk in.
I chose this Ibis as I was driving down through France on my own and Châteauroux was about 2/3 of the way through my journey, so an ideal place for my overnight stay.
I was travelling alone, in my Right Hand Drive English car, and it was a complete farce trying to access the -2 and -3 Ibis parking areas safely. Fortunately as I approached the main entrance from the street there was a pedestrian close by who was able to press the entry button for me……. Then the farce started down on -2. Being in a RHD car meant I had to get out and walk round it to the press-button for the barrier. By the time I had got back in the car and driven round to the barrier it had come down again. I left the car in front of the barrier and walked back to the press-button but again the barrier had come down before I could pass. Ridiculous and totally unsafe!
I managed to speak to the Receptionist who didn’t understand my problem as he hadn’t realised I’d got a RHD car even though I had told him. I speak enough French to have made that clear. Eventually he told me to go down to -3 which I did. I registered and took my luggage up to my room and then he came down to -3 with me as I needed to show him the same potential problem with getting out the next morning. I could not access the press-button from inside my car and the barrier wouldn’t stay up long enough for me to get through it. In the end he allowed me to go up to -1 and park in a designated space there and showed me where & how to drive out over the sensor pads, which I managed to do safely when I left the next morning.
Whoever designed the press-button / barrier system did not make any allowance for a single (in my case widowed) person driving a RHD car alone. Surely I can’t be the first person to have stayed there who had this problem. WHY CAN’T THE PRESS-BUTTON BE RIGHT BESIDE THE BARRIER?????

well placed in the city and that room was fine! nice comfy room and very clean!
they also provide meals any time you want!
you can’t enter the building any time you want - you have to ring a bell and be let in. when I first tried to enter I rang four times without effect, then had to call front desk to be let in. after that getting in was easier though 😅
the parking lot smells tremendously of urin. also: it’s not super clear where to enter the pin to open the barrier for the designated parking space.

Hotel was everything that you would expect from a budget hotel. Bed was very comfortable. Air conditioning in room worked ok and was set at a nice temperature upon arrival. Spare pillows available. Basic accommodation but had everything that was needed. Location was close to the bars and restaurants (about 10 minute stroll away).
Body was in shower was empty but I had my own so not a problem.
