It is the cheapest in the block so I guess I get what I paid for. It badly needs maintenance.

Great location but very budget

The hotel was very well situated close to central Auckland

It may be because it was New Year but there was no one around for the second day and we didn’t get our coffee/tea replenished. Room was very small but functional

Good central location but spoilt lack of attention to the accommodation part of this establishment.

Restaurant provides good pub style meals. Comfortable bed with excellent shower. CBD location

Not value for money do to my late booking and dynamic pricing. My room was not ready when I arrived at the designated time. Room sment musty and needed a good airing. Broken towel rail in bathroom. Shower was as clean as it could be given age of the fittings.

A great choice for those looking for character in the places they stay.

It is a very old pub, so the rooms are small but full of character. The beds were quite comfortable. Downstairs was the old pub with its own beer brewed on the premises. A fantastic little stay for those into this sort of thing.

I will not book this hotel again for myself or my employees, and I also cannot recommend it.

Location, bed

The room was dirty, with bottle caps on the floor. There was trash on the windowsill outside. The most unpleasant part was that after putting my food in the small fridge in the evening, I found it completely frozen in the morning — I had to throw the vegetables away because of that. In the bathroom, the drain was in a small pit and was covered with a towel on the floor. When I stepped on the towel, not expecting a hole underneath, I twisted my ankle. As expected, the bar/restaurant was open until late at night and it was loud, though bearable. The street is quite busy. The only positive thing was the location and normal bed.

The bedroom was very small and overlooked a busy and noisy road. The hotel requires investment throughout. Loved the bar and music. Bar staff very friendly. Didn’t eat there. Difficult to reach by phone and emails often not answered.

I probably wouldn’t be back.

He let us off $100 off our bond which we are truly grateful for at such short notice. It wasn’t the best stay but there was a bed and bathroom so we were happy.

Room was so smelly and stuffy we could not breath and the smell coming from the bathroom was absolutely horrible. I feel like I would have done a better job cleaning that room as I found a bag that held substances on the ground. But as I said it was a last minute booking and we’re still grateful. Also the after hours door was horrible, we thought we were locked out when really it was just absolutely a mission to push open.
