The front desk staffs e not freindly. The clearing staffs start cleaning the room at 10 am and very noisy, specially the doors slammed one after the other.

Got bed bugs bites and found bed bugs in my luggage after leaving

I liked that the price was cheap and location was good. But that was before I got there. The moment I checked in I realised it wasnt worth it.

Incredibly small room. Facilities are terrible. Walls are thin and all guests super loud. The bathroom was clean, unfortunately cant say the same about the room. Found some mints on the floor next to my bed, bits of food (i think it was some peppers and a bit of tomatoes) under the bed. Unfortunately only saw that in the afternoon after the first night so I thought there is not much point to complain at that stage. What is worse though is that after the first night I found some insect bites on my ankles. I was joking with my boyfriend over messages that I hope its not bed bugs considering how unclean the hotel is, thinking its for sure from mosquitos as I slept with an open window. Four days later and im now sure it was bed bugs as I now found 2 dead ones and 2 alive ones in my luggage. How Im going to deal with this infestation I have no idea, but im worried I might have to get rid of all my belongings including my bags, books and electronics to make sure the bugs dont spread to my house once I go back home. I wish I had taken som pictures of the mess and food i found around the bed. I would say I can take them next time but there will definitely be no next time as I would never stay at this place ever again. I will defo upload some pictures of the bed bugs if I find any more in my clothes.

Cheap and Good Enough

First time staying here. It's one of the cheaper places in Auckland City so my expectations weren't high. It's ok, but you do kind of get what you pay for - eg: 1ply TP, a small fan heater that didn't work, and no aircon (but there was a small cheap fan in the room). The room was small but comfortable enough and was quiet at night. Bins were loudly picked up outside at 6:30am. It's very close to K Road, so handy if you're travelling for gigs in that area.

Had to wait at reception for at least 15mins before it was staffed and I could check-in. I asked about the laundry and the reception failed to advice me about the tokens needed, so I had to come back down for them. I had been caught in a heavy downpour prior to arriving and was soaked, so this experience was more irritating to me than it usually would have been. The Wifi was useless, so I had to use my mobile data.

Student dorm atmosphere

Close to the city centre. Beds are comfortable.

Not clean. Spoons in the room were oily and greasy, there was lots of dust on the floor. It didn’t feel clean. It looks more like a student dorm. Walls are paper thin and you can hear people talking and laughing from all the rooms on the hallway.

5 nights was too long, but a great place to stay for a night or two on a budget.

Beds are comfortable. Room was clean. Reception staff were lovely. Rooms have a minor service daily.

2 out of 5 days, we returned and housekeeping had left our door unlocked. That was very disconcerting. We knew there was no air con when we booked, but actually had absolute scorcher days and there was no air flow. It was pretty horrific. Rooms were small.

Good location but you will suffer if you need to rest during the day. Uncomfortable.

No ac, only a box fan and heater. Too hot to stay in the room during the day if you wanted. Most staff was nice but one in particular would not be lenient about washers being used slightly after hours.

Great location but did not enjoy the room being a hotbox :-(.

Location is great, right at the top of Queen St and close to everything. My Mum was having surgery at Akl hospital so this was a 15min walk or 10 min drive (depending what time you went). The beds are super comfortable and good space in the room. It's always very clean when we stay here and value for money is top notch!

Normally, I dont dislike anything here and have a great stay, but on this occasion the room was so HOT! We used the provided fans and had the windows as wide as possible but It was hard to sleep and no airflow. We did consider moving to another hotel because of this but were so busy with our Mum we just didn't have time, or energy after full days at the hospital. The only other negative there were people having a very loud conversation outside of our room at varying times throughout the night (like 1 & 3am) which woke up those of us who were trying to sleep in the main part of the room. I dont think they can do much about either issue, it's an old building with thin walls and with a low price point I guess you have to take the good with the bad. I will go back but would probably make sure to not have that room again.

Clean, fair and affordable

You get what you pay. This place is affordable and clean, but it lacks luxury and even basic comfort. Either way, for a good price, I got a clean room all for myself, with TV, bathroom, fridge, coffee & tea, etc. Any other place would charge you the same price for a bed in a shared room. Parking facilities for $30 a day, which is convenient.

Paper-thin walls, you could hear everything, so it was very hard to sleep... bring earplugs. One socket on the other side of the room, so charging my phone while in bed wasn't possible. There was a power cut around 3 am until 6 am. And again, no luxury at all, it could use a little bit of paint and better atmosphere, but in general, the price is fair.

The tea set was good I had a of a double or a single bed to choose the toilet n showers were very close n very clean n tidy there was a odd noise here n there but hey it’s expected with lots of guest so thumbs up to the team

lol I got a fright about the bond but I understand why so it protects the hotel n staff of vandalism from the guest I did receive it back after my stay n inspection

No surprises. Was clean and good value for money. Family room is perfect for families.

Location and price plus it was very clean which is important. Family room perfect for what we were after.

We were on the 1st floor and it felt like there were a herd of elephants running around on the floor above. Very noisy. Minor feedback also - it would be very helpful to have another mirror in the family rooms - one in the bedroom as well as in the bathroom.

The location of the hotel; the room was warm

The room is quoted for 4 people, but it is small & cramped with beds - it has a division where the outer part has 2 single beds (1 sofa bed & a small dining table for 3 would've been better, the inner part has a double-size bed which is fine); the closet is too small, there's no good space to put your 4-pax luggage; the shower is tiny & if you're sitting on the toilet you can clearly hear the person in the next room
