Fun, cosy, great location. Loved it.
Location, lovely layout of lobby, good breakfast, friendly staff.
Unfortunately, the water in the showers in the pool were cold on Saturday; the jacuzzi was not working and the outdoors jacuzzi was also cold.
On Sunday morning, the shower in our room was cold; it had been beautiful and hot on the Saturday.

Was so looking forward to our weekend away and was very disappointed in this hotel
Location was very good and easy access to the city. Breakfast was ok but only one coffee machine working was not good enough considering the crowd of people for breakfast. Evening meal was only fair as it could have been hotter, service very slow and we had to eat it with our coats on cause the dining room was so cold. Very disappointing.
Not enough qualified or experienced staff by far, the cold all round the hotel was unbearable and everyone we spoke to said same, we never took our coats off the whole time we there, water in shower cold also. Will not b back and will definitely not b recommending.

Exceptional stay
Everything about the hotel was perfect. The reception and bar area was really nice and the staff were so accommodating and friendly, especially Gonzalo at the front desk. He was so helpful with everything and went above and beyond us!! The room was spacious and honestly everything was perfect from the bed to the shower to the cleanliness. Also, the location couldn’t have been better. It was in the city centre but away from the main roads so there weren’t any problems with noise. Would clearly highly recommend this hotel :P

Would not stay again, not up to 4 star standards
the staff are very polite and the hotel is very central to the city
The spa is filthy, there is hair and dirt all over the wooden beams and floor in the Sauna. When we arrived the jets in the main pool were not working and neither was the indoor jacuzzi. The steam room smelt like mould and there were missing tiles in the steam room, and it was not even warm. Indoor heated pool was cold. Beds are awful. Mattress from many moons ago with hard coiled springs. We went for an anniversary stay and it was so bad, my wife left halfway through the night to go sleep in our own bed at home as we had ''treated'' ourselves to a stay in the city for our anniversary. It was ruined by the failings of the property. This 4 star hotel cost us more than many 5 stars all over Europe and should be rated again as it does not meet 4 star standards. We have stayed in many 4 star hotels that far exceed the shoddy beds, filthy spa with broken facilities and dull breakfast. There was also a foul smell in our hallway by our room and the hotel has a SEWER smell leading up to the entrance from the car park entering the lobby. We have contacted the GM to give him our feedback as well as it is crazy that this hotel is in the same group as the intercontinental in Dublin and Powerscourt Hotel.

Very slow service on hotel restaurant and no smart tv. Only had 10-15 satellite channels.

Terrible experience.!!!
The FOOD.!!! The dinner in the restaurant was the worst meal we ever had at a hotel,We waited half an hour for our starters to come out and when they arrived out they were absolutely freezing cold to the stage we had to send them back to the kitchen to be heated up.!! When we finished our starters we then waited over 1 hour for our main course to come out to the point we taught they forgot about us mind you there was only around 5 tables been used in the whole restaurant which was very quiet, our food eventually arrived I had a steak and chips the wife had roast beef the 2 dinners were stone cold and we’re not exaggerating here it was actually embarrassing having to call the waiter over to tell them after waiting over an hour and having to send our starters back for been cold that now our 2 main courses were stone cold, the standard of this restaurant was very disappointing as all we got was sorry we will reheat this for you,we left our food there and paid the bill which mind you was not cheap at all, this was definitely the worst experience we ever had in a restaurant and I would advise people to stay away and go down the town for food as we found restaurants the next day with top class service and food for half the price.!!!

Still recommended to book again when in galway
Accessible to everything
The bed sheet are so itchy, the pressure of the water is not good.

Don’t use booking.com
Rooms great
Check in was a pure disaster. There was a mix up between booking.com and the Galmont hotel and they said we booked 5 rooms for two nights this was completely incorrect. They were demanding that we pay for all these rooms even though they were not booked when I checked my app. We had two people in our party who checked in later and they were looking for payment even though the rooms were already paid for. I will never use Galmont or booking.com ever again. Galmont is blaming booking.com for this absolute mess

Stay in October
Location is good, 10 min walk to city centre. Staff were very friendly. Bed was comfortable and room was a good size.
Breakfast was cold both mornings we had it. Water pressure in tap, toilet and shower very low. Our room was very far away, 2 lifts and 2 long corridors, just unlucky with room we got.
I also dont think that a hotel should charge for parking when its a hotel specific car park.

The room was lovely. Staff at the reception were great and friendly.
The staff at the bar were slow.

Great modern hotel
A high quality, clean and modern hotel with great amenities including bar and restaurant. The room was a good size and met our expectations with all normal room and bathroom amenities that matched the description when booking. A 10 minute walk to the centre of Galway. Overall good experience.
Unfortunately our room was next to a storage room used by the cleaners and we were awoken very early by constant door slamming as the cleaners moved in and out. This was the only downside to an otherwise good experience

A lovely hotel with wonderful staff and great restaurant and bar, I would highly recommend it!
Hotel was lovely. Very close to the train station and still close to town. Polite and helpful staff. Wonderful food and drinks in the restaurant and bar.
Wish we could have used the outdoor terrace area but unfortunately it was raining during our stay and could not. However we were warm and relaxed in their restaurant and bar that evening.

Very good hotel
The hotel is very close to the train station and easy to arrive to the city center.
The room is big and it was clean.
The breakfast has a lot of options - it is worth it to start the day with it.
Our room was old, especially the bathroom. Located in the old building, I guess - you had to take two elevators to arrive.
A little too pricey, but Galway has not so many options to choose from.

Comfortable and clean.
Centrally located to all the attractions that one could wish to visit in Galway. Helpful and friendly staff throughout. Breakfast was more than sufficient. Comfortable beds, clean fluffy towels.
It's a bit pricey. I was in a bind and needed a place fast. I would have liked a nice bed and breakfast or a least costly place overall, but I needed to get out of the room I was in.

We had a wonderful stay at The Galmont and will definitely stay again.
This hotel is right beside the train station and a convenient short walk to the night life.
The rooms and beds are very comfortable.
The spa is beautiful and the food is good in the restaurant. Cocktails were delicious.

We booked this hotel because of the parking in site and the short walk to the centre of Galway city
We loved it all

A great modern hotel in very convenient location
Very convenient location for the centre. Staff extremely friendly and some really great extras (sparkling water and ice tap in the corridor!!). The spa was really great, nice and quiet and lots of facilities to use
A few of the bits in the room were a bit tired. Bathroom didnt match the quality of the rest of the room or hotel. Hairdryer needed to be replaced and the soap was empty, staff sorted out hairdryer immediately though 😊 would have expected robe and slippers for the price and type of the hotel.

Joke?
The second room we were given (222) was up to normal high standard we have experienced there for twenty years.
The first (13xx I think) was a disgrace.Windows filthy.Toilet absolutely filthy.Room small.Obviously only used normally for staff.Staff at front desk unsurprised .Gave us a drink voucher!! We quickly met an English guy and American couple who were furious. After 20 years excellent service we didn't create a fuss ThoughI can't say the same for the Americans!
Lol.
It would have been nice to get what we booked, paid for and were expecting.

Ticks the boxes, but not more
The rooms, beds specifically were comfortable. Everything was clean, lobby bathrooms worked. No checkin/checkout/keycard issues. Basic needs were taken care of. Like many hotels, the bathroom has moved to large bottles of products vs. disposables, but they use squeeze bottles which work remarkably well compared to pumps that always seem to have problems.
I feel like this hotel lacked soul and any sort of effort to go above and beyond, which I'd expect at this price point. The breakfast was completely self-serve, including beverages, and yet there always seemed to be a line for the one function they bothered to staff -- making sure you paid. The breakfast itself was pretty forgettable.
The room needed an update. The plastics were badly yellowed. Front desk staff were completely missing when we went to find them. Later, they failed to relay a message about a booked driver waiting outside. Staff seemed wooden. Each of these is totally forgivable, but it seemed to be a pattern.

passable
Breaksfast,
location,
Room service was poor for such a high quality hotel and was very expensive for what it was. Also I had an allergic reaction to something served on the plate with room service which was not listed on the menu and the staff were unhelpful about confirming the contents of the salad dressing. They did offer assistance but it was too late . Luckily it was not severe.

Cocktails after 5pm only
Lovely hotel, perfect location.
Very disappointed with the restaurant and bar, more staff are needed. We waited too long for service, and were unable to order cocktails as nobody could make them till 5pm!

Think about what type of room / view you would like we went for a break and just expected as the hotel faced out to
The staff throughout the hotel were extremely friendly especially the cleaning staff.
Unfortunately due a family bereavement we had to check out on Friday evening instead of Saturday. When we went to check out there was 3 reception members on duty and they appeared to be shocked we were checking out I explained the reason but to be honest none of the 3 cared, we paid the full amount . there was some glitch with the system they all looked into the screen sorted it and never asked did we enjoy our stay very evident they didn’t care . Having previously worked in the hospitality sector myself I think it was a big failing. I then had to return to the desk with the parking ticket to be validated and again there was no conversation.
The view from the room was extremely grim and disappointing who wants to pay to look out at a walk. Do not book a room through booking.com without asking for a view.

Nice big beds in a good location.
Bit pricey even though it’s a little out of the downtown area, spa and pool close very early.

Amazing stay! Very comfortable and helpful staff.
The location was awesome, the facilities were wonderful and we enjoyed having the pool and spa right there! The pool was excellent value and had a sauna and steam room available for use. There was a filtered still and bubbly water station near the ice and bendy machine on our floor which was great!
Nothing we didn’t like.
