The Village – Praia D’El Rey Golf & Beach Resort

Spacious townhouse with plenty of good quality amenities and an exceptionally well-equipped kitchen. Really good hot showers. Near to beach and swimming pool. The safe wasn’t working and someone was sent out immediately to try and fix it. It wasn’t possible but they came back twice to keep trying. All staff we encountered were so pleasant.

Lack of recycling options either in the flat or out by the bins, which were exceptionally smelly. (I mentioned it at check-out).

The villa was amazing. Had everything facilities wise, large, well maintained and cleaned by the amazing cleaners every two days. We had a very thorough and informative introduction from Francisco, and the lady on the golf reception was lovely and very accommodating for our change requests for buggies etc. She even arranged some champagne for a birthday surprise for me. The bar and waiter staff were always very attentive and friendly. We cant rate this resort highly enough and we couldn't believe how good the actual house we stayed in was.

The resort is very secluded and only one restaurant outside of the resort.. no close grocery store nearby. Although we were early the receptionist said our room wasn’t ready but would be ready in about an hour.. we came back 2 hrs later and were told she didn’t promise us that and we would have to come back after 4.. When we got into our room we were greeted by a mop and bucket and the room smelled of mildew. We tried to air it out but it stinks.. No bags in the garbage.. no paper towels.. no Kleenex. We will NOT be recommending this place..
