Loved the location, easy access to the nice terrace where we spotted the northern lights two nights in a row.
We had a room with sauna and it worked very well
Everything is very pricey - food, restaurant, hotel shop, room rate…

Hospitality of the staff
Due to the fact that the hotel is near to the slopes, chances of seeing the Northern Light are small. Lights are on almost 24/7 and there’s a lot off damp that blocks the view. So don’t pick this hotel primarily for that purpose.

We only had breakfast in the restaurant. I thought there was a very good selection in the buffet, and the restaurant setting is stunning. The room was very clean, and finished to a high standard. The bathroom products were lovely. The view from our bedroom was amazing. The staff were very friendly, courteous, and helpful.
There is no lift. This is a bit of a problem. Hauling heavy suitcases up the stairs is a challenge, even for the able bodied. There could be more variety on the restaurant menu. If you like reindeer, then there is plenty of that, but no other meat option. Chicken would have been nice. The hotel is situated at the top of s steep hill, only really accessible by car. Taxi's got expensive, but we had to get at least one every day. However, the setting is very picturesque once you're up there.

I appreciated the sauna facilities and the availability of a dedicated skiing area.
I was disappointed with the check-in experience. Even though I informed the hotel through Booking.com in advance and provided my friend’s full passport name, the reception still refused to let her check in. They said it was too early for check-in, which was understandable, but what concerned me most was that they insisted that even if a room was available, she would not be allowed to enter until the main guest arrived. Most of the reception staff were not welcoming or professional. Housekeeping was also below expectations, as the used glasses were left in the same place and the room was not properly refreshed.

Location, ambience, food, rooms. Restaurant staff (serving breakfast) were exceptional - credit to the team.
Reception staff were a little cold considering the amount of money being charged for the rooms

Great location. Ways of the city lights. We managed to see the Northern lights in forest near. We booked a room with sauna. It was a great experience. And the view from the room was crazy, like a postcard. Wonderful breakfast.
They have a great terrace, but unfortunately the seats were full of snow, they should clean them after the snow. There was a ski platform nearby and the only day we could see the northern lights they were working, at midnight, which blurred the beautiful clear sky. You should talk you them in order to that job during the day.

The staff, especially the wait staff at the restaurant were absolutely lovely and accommodating. They were very helpful and even remembered my breakfast coffee request without me needing to ask. Also, the room was quiet and came with slippers. Also, the ability to see the northern lights right from the hotel's rooftop terrace was amazing. Finally, having hiking trails all around the hotel is great for those of you who love nature and hiking.
The room temperature wasn't as easy to control as it was primarily just a radiator. This could be user error though.

Good location in the middle of a park, with a lot of green area. Very polite and helpful staff. Very good breakfast.
The room is a bit small , the twin room the beds are close to each other.

Lots of hiking trails. Spotted reindeer and lots of birds. Very peaceful. Breakfast buffet was top notch. Restaurant had a great view and their menu was excellent! Our room had a great picture window pointing north and had a great view of the forest. They have a terrace that guests have access to 24/7. The staff were pleasant and welcoming. Sara was especially helpful when we arrived. I appreciated that they gave us grace for an early check in when we arrived via the overnight train from Helsinki. The sauna that was in the room was a huge plus and can see the view of the forest as we were using it. The room was meticulously clean. Lots of storage for belongings and luggage. Nespresso and instant coffee were available for coffee lovers. Thoroughly enjoyed Arctic Pine products for the ultimate spa experience. Didn’t even turn the tv on because the view was beautifully peaceful. Arktikum and Santa Claus Village are a short Uber/taxi drive away.
No elevator. The shower glass panel could’ve been wider to prevent splashes extending the sink area.

Absolutely loved the hotel. Great location outside of town in the forest. We hired a car from the railway station; without which it may be not such a great location unless you want to pay a lot of expensive taxi fares. Also a much better way of exploring the surrrounding area at your own leisure than paying for tours. Very comfortable room and the in-room sauna was a fantastic addition. Staff really helpful and friendly. Such a cool relaxed vibe. We stayed in summer and it's probably even better in winter (and a lot more expensive!!). Inclusive breakfast was probably the best hotel breakfast we've ever had. Food in the restaurant at dinner was also top notch. Rooftop seating area was lovely in the late evening watching the midnight sunset.
Room service was rather poor. All but one day the coffee / tea was not replenished. Another day there was no toilet roll. And on last day the standalone aircon hose had been disconnected from the vent during cleaning meaning all the hot air pumped out into the room making it unbearably hot (already 30 degrees outside) until we discovered the problem and re-assembled the unit.

The room was clean and comfortable (with in-room sauna!), the breakfast was amazing (local specialities were particularly welcome), and I had a lovely evening at the restaurant.
Be aware that the hotel is quite distant from town (about 3 km) and there is no public transit. I walked back and forth every day, but for some this might be a problem.

Perched at the top of a tall hill, the hotel’s location is magical, with views reaching out over thickly forested rolling hills and a sparkling river.
The staff are lovely and friendly, they greet you with a smile as soon as you walk into the stunning reception area filled with comfy chairs and a crackling fire.
We visited in the summer, so spent lots of time walking the forest trails and tracks that are ski slopes in the winter.
Our room was fantastic: spacious, clean and luxurious. We used the sauna lots. Every night after walking in the forest all day, we slept soundly in super soft beds.
The breakfast buffet was absolutely amazing, with everything you could possible want and then some. The finishing touch; a whole fresh honeycomb.
It was so good here that it made us feel very sad to leave.

Beautiful location, wonderful room with private sauna. Amazing breakfast.

Nice, clean and quiet place. The sauna in the bedroom is a real plus.
The forest around is perfect for a stroll even in winter.
The restaurant has really good food and for reasonable prices. Breakfast is also quite good. Uber comes also very quickly so it’s not a problem to go in town if you don’t have a car
The few things that would be great to improve is to have a lift (1 stair to climb is not a big deal but with heavy luggage it becomes a bit more challenging). Adding a gym in the hotel would make the place prefect

Beautiful views and the breakfast was exceptional. Dinner in the hotel was also lovely. Hotel guests could go in the ski lifts free of charge to see the views. We were not skiiing.
The room was very hot especially after using the sauna in the bathroom, and difficult to cool it down. Some of the staff were friendly but most weren’t. Given the cost of this hotel you’d expect more. Taxis in and out of Rovaneimi were 17€/18€.

Great location to enjoy nature whilst still being close to the city. Clean and comfortable place. Super breakfast.
House staff cabinets next to room slightly too noisy early morning.

It was lovely staying within the forest covered in snow. We enjoyed the Ounasvaara winter trails and there was a direct acces to ski lift to ski resort from the hotel. Breakfast was amazing! You can sign up to receive aurora alerts and their rooftop was a great spot to see the northern lights dance above Rovaneimi city.

The hotel area is very nice with beautiful scenery for walking. the Santasport center is just down the road, which is convenient for activities like renting fat bikes.
The staff were all nice and helpful.
Room was large and spacious.
Over priced for what you get offered.
If you want somewhere quiet to hangout, this is not the place to go as lots of large tour groups/safaris come up to the hotel and pack into the lobby area using all the space. (as well as going up to the hotel Aurora terrace)
The only restaurant in the hotel takes so many external reservations, and is so busy that they do not have space for hotel guests who have not booked several weeks in advance. If your lucky they let you in late. The restaurant then only offers a very disappointing buffet option or a 3 and 5 course meal option - leaving you with limited choices. Both is a massive letdown for any hotel guest who’s only other options is to sit in the lobby bar with all the tour groups and eat the small selection of snack foods they offer or drive into the town.

Luxury room and hotel décor. Spacious clean room with strong wifi. Very nice sauna. Confortable bedding. Upgraded to Lapland suite for 1-night stay to compensate for overbooking.
Hotel overbooking in peak season and forcing us to relocate for 3 out of 4-night stay one week before arrival. No negotation to keep full stay despite booking 3 months in advance and paying €800 upfront (for pay at property booking). From what we could experience, no bus stop nearby. Need to pay for taxi, car, or shuttle to get to city centre restaurants or activities. Over-priced bar snacks.
