The room I had was room 64,room was noisy with the road outside, could possibly do with new windows.

Extremely dated hotel, indeed of renovation. View is outstanding and the staff extremely pleasant and helpful.
The rooms and hotel. Also the breakfast was very low quality.

Location was good
The room at the front of the hotel was very dated and very noisy (road traffic late into the night). I didn’t spot in the booking that there was a £10 charge for parking ‘as I booked through a third party’. That made it very overpriced for the standard of room and in comparison to other local B&Bs who offer parking in their room price

Well the sea view could go out back door walk down and swim in the sea brill...
Bar staff Brill as well as front house reception all good
Did note eating area and room seemed a little outdateted

On the sea front with a view from the garden
Reception staff telling another guest booking that to add breakfast after their booking would be an additional £15 per person, then when the couple said no, your staff replied " no it's ok we can do it for a tenner" then after I checked in and dropped my stuff in my room I went back to reception to add breakfast to my and my sisters booking only to be told, it's £15. Then, no we can do it for 12.50 . When I said but you offered it to the other couple five minutes ago fir £10 they looked sheepishly at each other and said sorry £12.50 is the best we can do. As a result we didn't bother. Then when I asked reception to order me a cab fir 19.05 to take me to Torbay hospital
Tal I was first told it couldn't do five past but would be there at ten past. At 7.20i asked reception if they knew where my cab was ? I was told glibly " it's probably stuck in traffic
, it's bad this time of night" I had walked along the main road from Torquay station 30 minutes earlier and saw no heavy traffic, and as someone visiting family I. Paignton for the last 35 years I am well aware of the traffic chaos that can sometimes happen around Torquay, that night wasn't one of them. As I stood outside waiting I could see the traffic flowing past, it was light and moving. I went back to reception and again asked about my cab. I was again told " probably traffic" I said I had walked the main road earlier and had stood watching traffic and there wasn't a problem? The receptionist said " it might be if they are coming from Paignton" I asked them to call the cab company to check, they did and I was told my cab was just passing the theatre. ( So not coming from Paignton) Eventually it turned up at 7:30 pm.

I loved the seafront location very beautiful and it was close to most attractions.
The carpets in the communal areas need some deep cleaning.
8.0 / 10.0
The location is excellent, just a short distance from everything, and the sea view from the room is truly stunning. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was disappointing and not worth the price. I even found a hair in the mushrooms, which led me to cancel my breakfast for the next day. The pillows were also uncomfortable, and I ended up with neck pain.

Lovely location overlooking the bay. Bed comfortable. Good breakfast.
Rooms very tired and drab, desperately needs updating. Parking is charged for per night even for guests.

£130 to stay 1 night. Unfortunately, paid the car park £10. Still got a £73 PCN. Hotel doesn’t response to their mistake. £210 can have a better hotel in this area
Staffs in all levels don’t respond to customers. I paid £10 for the carpark, staff not put my reg in the system. As a results, I received a PCN. Tried to call and email to hotel to cancel the PCN. They don’t respond. Car rental company charged me £73.
Not recommended this hotel.

The roof terrace was perfect for a sunny day/ evening. The food served was outstanding but the one thing that stood out most of all for us was the staff, they make this Hotel and they're so good with four legged friends.
Although the Hotel decor is a little dated, it added to the whole experience.
For the money we paid, it was exceptional. So no dislikes from us.

I have stayed here before and it was good. It has gone downhill since then.
I was allocated an occupied room - the person's belongings were still in it!
The shower didn't work - the hose was disconnected and the shower rail was broken and wouldn't hold the shower head. The water never got warm.
The door was so poorly fitting that light came in from the corridor all arround the door making it impossible to make it dark.
Two very bright and ever-changing coloured floodlights shine on the outside of the window at night.

Where the hotel is situated is lovely - panoramic views of Torquay. Easy commute in to Torquay, Torbay & paignton.
Staff absolutely spot on.
Bar food was nice & reasonably priced. Available most of the day. Continental breakfast not worth the money - full English buffet was really good.
Parking!
Absolute nightmare ! £10per day to park - no spaces when you get back in the evening.
The Staff did help us enormously - I'm a blue badge holder - & we did get a space after tge manager did some car shuffling.

The hotel view of the sea is lovely. The evening meal was exceptional, staff were attentive and the quality and choice very good.
I booked a family room for my parents as I wanted them to have more space. It was a treat as it was a special family occasion. The website showed a table next to a window and I had asked for them to have a room with a table so they could sit at the table with a cup of tea and look at the sea. They had a room which was accessed down a flight of stairs (my mum walks with a stick - I had said their ages in the booking but it needed to ask if any mobility issues - there is no lift). The room was ok, basic and clean. The window was a high window and no table so no opportunity to sit and be able to look out which was disappointing. The upstairs had a conference of some sort so all tables in the 2 lounge areas were fully taken. So no opportunity after dinner to sit and enjoy the views so we stayed at the dining table which has no outside view. It was not a cheap one night stay and not the experience I was hoping for for them.

The breakfast was good, plenty of choice, it's in a great location. Parking is not ideal, I paid £10 for 24 hours parking and struggled finding a space.
We were told on arrival that only half the hotel is accessible by lift and that our room was by stairs only. It doesn't state this in the description. I later found out that we could of gone up 1 floor in the lift and then walked through cutting the number of steps by two thirds. The room was tired looking, there was mould in the bathroom, the shower just managed a trickle of warm water, there was a staid on the wall that looked like a drink had been thrown at it. The bed was hard and wobbled from side to side. We won't be staying here again.

Location,
The room was 25c according to my smart watch… far too hot to sleep and the bed was terrible….. very thin mattress. Only 1 proper towel even though two adults were staying. staff also tried to charge me £15 for an early check in, luckily a manger took the lady aside and suggested she checks us in and we don’t get access till later that evening, therefore no charge. In the facilities section on booking.com it states free parking but in other section about with the hotel has it says £10 charge….. so I ended up paying that. All in all not great stay away in the summer

Room very basic with dated furniture, bed comfy . Shower cubicle very small, elbows touched the walls when washing ( and I am only little)
WiFi code did not work
I felt for the price a basic breakfast should of been included, it was an additional £15

The rooms were very tired and desperately need to be smartened up and the carpet still had dog hair on it

The room needed a make over, the pink bathroom was very outdated, the walls were marked and the carpet had seen better days.

Staff are friendly, good breakfast, also the service in the Bar was really good, hands up for the staff.
Paid Parking, £10 a day, is expensive when it used to be free. The upgraded room for a sea view was more garden view than a sea view.

very tired decor, a bit tatty around the edges.

The room was lovely and light, very clean, and although the bathroom was quite 'cozy', it had everything needed, with a powerful hot shower in the bath.
We decided to book in for a breakfast, which was very good value for money, lots of choices, and very tasty.
All the staff were very polite, professional and helpful.
Only a short, easy walk alongside the beach towards the Theatre, we were visiting. There are plenty of eateries along the way too
The view of the car park wasn't very scenic, but I didn't ask for a room with a view, as we were only in for one night. There were a few 'springy' moments with the mattress, but still comfortable

Location is fine, great views across harbour, safe parking at £10 per night. All staff were excellent and professional.
Food was excellent value, especially the bar meals--good value and varied.
Uncomfortable bed, compact room, small shower space, antiquated lift ,all these factors led to our decision not to return,as we
usually visit Torquay once or twice a year. The lift has to be seen to be believed, I have done weight training in the past,so could just about cope, but God help the elderly or infirm. I am sorry to have to write this criticism.
The hotel caters more for coaches now.
8.0 / 10.0
Ideally located on the coast, walking distance to the sea front and promenade, and only a few miles away from the motorway. Great sea views from the property.
Interior looks a bit antiquated. I could hear floorboards creaking in adjacent rooms when other guests were moving around.

Amazing buffet breakfast, friendly and happy staff and comfortable refurbished family room !
