The Maison Gorey hotel is a quite elegant 1930s style hotel situated in Gorey village, five minutes walk from the Route 1 bus stop to St. Helier and fifteen minutes walk to Gorey Pier and Mont Orgueil castle. Gorey is the jewel in the crown of Jersey with its long golden sandy beach, picturesque harbour and picture postcard medieval castle overlooking the harbour and beach with wonderful views of both. I stayed for a week in Room 209 on the second/top floor. The room was spacious with a huge, very comfortable double bed and a private en-suite bathroom with a shower and free toiletries. No lift. Daily housekeeping. The room was very clean, well decorated and well furnished. There was a pleasant view out the back, a fridge and plenty of plug sockets. All the rooms have breakfast included in the price, which runs from 8am - 9.30am. There is a choice of a fully cooked English breakfast or a continental breakfast, plus cereals, yoghurt, fruit cocktail, fruit and tea/coffee/juices to drink. The breakfast is cooked to a high standard by the resident chef, especially the fresh croissants and pain au chocolats. For other food needs, there is a Morrisons Daily five minutes walk around the corner in the village, but beware the rude and aggressive shopkeeper in Morrisons.
1 Reception is only properly staffed between 2.30pm and 8pm. The manager is rarely to be seen. This means there is no proper system for checking out in the morning.
2 The continental breakfast has deliciously fresh pastries, but no bread rolls. The only bread available is toast. My idea of a continental breakfast includes rolls and jam.

Restaurant staff no very please to have guest they do not smile, they hurry you up to finish breakfast. Only the cooker a man was very friendly, he gets 100 % our congratulations 🎊

Hot breakfast was fine.
Pastries were stale, very limited choice of cereal and no plant based milk.
