For a upgraded room it was pretty poor

Good for a group who want to eat and drink together

Great communal / bar area for a group Staff are great - special thanks to David in the restaurant who looked after us! Went above and beyond with a large group of us inc children.

Carpets in hallways and bedrooms are dreadful Rooms are basic Pillows aren’t the best and ground floor rooms feel mouldy and damp smelling Shower is weak Bathroom pokey No fridge in room Lumps of hair around the swimming pool

Location met our needs

Room wasn’t very clean the trim around the shower was very dirty, holes in the towels, cobwebs in the bedroom area , fire alarm went off at 6.3am with very little staff informing guests it was a false alarm At breakfast there was guests walking around in there nightwear !! I think the hotel should have a dress code for the restaurant

Very nice stay will come again

Breakfast was fantastic. Great value. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Room was great size. Good pool and excellent opening hours and late at night. Good bar and nice Starbucks coffee was a treat!!

Bar area is a bit chilly due to doors. Had to pay for parking even though hotel guest. Did a late check out which was a brilliant idea but £40 is quite a lot.

The spa facilities, the friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable rooms. Great breakfast, even for our gluten free person.

Paying for parking if your a guest, would be better if informed about being an IHG member first free parking before arrival.

Staff at this hotel are exceptionally helpful - best to stay in the King rooms, not the executive.

The staff at this hotel are exceptional. All of those I encountered - reception, breakfast and the bar, were friendly and extremely helpful. They are the reason I will return to this hotel. Bar area, breakfast room all very nice.

I booked an executive room and it was very tired, in need of refurbishment and not as described. I asked to be moved to a standard room, refurbished and much more comfortable. This meant that I had paid extra money for no reason.

Room - bathroom outdated. Get rid of the baths and do walk in showers only now. Mould on the bathroom walls…..not good Shower basic with curtain! Need to modernise. Room itself was fine.

Ideal family hotel with great pool

Spacious room, great location, swimming pool was open 7am to 10pm and great for kids but also roped off for space for adults to swim. Buffet breakfast was good. Staff were great throughout. Overall an ideal hotel for a family weekend away.

If you were being picky, then room decor was a little tired but this didn’t bother us at all

Very enjoyable stay with good staff

We had an enjoyable stay and the food was excellent, staff helpful. Only one night but would stay again. Room was a standard but it was quite large and had everything we wanted. Would have liked to use the pool so perhaps stay for two nights next time

I like the hotel. I didn’t like my room as I’ve said previously it smell of Chinese takeaway. Unfortunately, the staff didn’t meet so I complained on several occasions saying short staffed

Cheap hotel with good facilities for the price but not very peaceful.

Breakfast was good, quality of the sausages could have been a bit better, my daughter wouldn’t eat them but that aside it was good. Swimming pool was great.

The hotel room decor was a bit tired, the bed not that comfortable and on both nights sleep was disturbed by drunk guests, just being loud the first night and having a fight the second night.

Has it all

Holiday Inn is luxury encapsulated, everything required is to hand. Lighting is soft and bedding comfortable, room offers climate control which was a benefit on a rather cold day.

I did notice that the curtains would cover the radiator when closed. Perhaps the radiators are all sited underneath a window, but unfortunately those drapes would tend to block heating.

Despite the poor weather we had a lovely time and would come back here again

The staff we spoke with were all fantastic. The facilities like the pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room were fantastic. The pool temperature was a pleasant surprise.

The building seems a little tired noted that decoration was in progress. Our room was clean but could do with an uplift with decoration and new tiles in bathroom. The bathroom door needed a good clean

Location was good, staff were friendly

No hot water, lukewarm at best. Paid on arrival to upgrade to king bed, which was actually two single beds pushed together! Very uncomfortable and with my feet hanging off the bed, the room was v hot, I did not sleep well. Room not particularly clean either.

Breakfast was excellent, choice and availability were extremely good. Also the gym was fantastic, didn’t use the oool but it looked very welcoming. Overall very happy, will use Cambridge Holiday Inn again.

Excellent & comfortable: despite us not usually being fans of big chain hotels

Bar and Restaurant staff were excellent, professional and very friendly. The food was pretty good both in the evening and for breakfast. Interconnecting rooms that were allocated for the family was brilliant and a bit of a surprise. Why dont they make these more able to be booked, or even visible, online at the time of booking.

Check-in was a little sticky as they didnt seem to know about both rooms at the same time and insisted checking in 1 room before looking for the other. The whole charging for parking for non-IHG members was a bit confuddled and we werent entirely clear that out IHG number had been accepted at reception.
