Pierhouse stay

The staff were very nice. The bed and pillows were very comfortable,the breakfast was also good.

We were given a room suitable for wheelchair users,although we are'nt and didnt request one. The room was big which was lovely but as my husband is 6ft 3in the wash basin came up to his knees which was difffulcult to shave etc and no plug. Also there was no view except for a concrete wall and the windows were frosted. We had the Sunday roast in the evening and all was good except for the roast potatoes,which were possibley from lunch time and quite hard.

Excellent helpful staff, nicely decorated room, very comfortable bed. The bar area was also lovely with games to play and ace food/drinks. Perfect location for a weekend away in Charlestown.

The room was situated above an air conditioning unit of some sort which could be quite irritating for a light sleeper. But for the price and myself as a good sleeper it wasn't a problem. The lights in the room were also a bit confusing! Took a few tries to work out which switches were for which lights!

Very comfortable stay and a great location to visit the Eden Project and the gardens of Heligan.

Reception and service were impeccable. Parking was a few hundred yards up the road at a sister establishment, however you can park outsider to unload. The location, right on the harbour, is great and there are lots of restaurants and food outlets nearby, although it has to be said the hotel food is good too. The breakfasts were delicious and well cooked, I particularly enjoyed the smoked salmon. The cabin room we had was compact, not much free floor space, but it had a great shower en-suite and was more than workable for the four nights.

Fabulous spot, very friendly and welcoming, great decor

Its position right on the seafront. Very friendly staff. Gorgeous room, great seaview with fabulous fabrics. The dry robes to use for sea swim (not that we did) very comfy bed - great artwork everywhere and lots of good detail

absolutely stunning vibes - a real treasure!

My mum and I booked Pier House as a pit-stop on our little Cornish Road Trip. It excelled all expectations. We received a very friendly welcome and the room was beautiful, with a huge walk in shower and Pier House dry robes, perfect for the early sunrise sea swim I had been longing for. The dinner and breakfast was delightful - such good, honest, home-cooked pub food with a chill vibe and excellent staff. I will absolutely be coming back whenever I get the chance to. A true gem.

Nice hotel, great location, breakfast disaster

First room given had bathroom 1 floor above us so we had to pay to upgrade, but got a great room with a view

Getting Breakfast was impossible, it’s like the hotel were surprised that all the people who had stayed with them the night before got up, at Breakfast time, we waited 25 minutes for our coffee ( when I enquired where it was I was snapped at ! Being told there was a massive rush on and I would have to wait!) and then to put an order in for food. From sitting down it was now an hour and no food so we just left as we had a timed entry ticket at Heligan so left, hungry.

Exceptional Place

We liked everything! The whole experience was exceptional! The position of course, but starting with the staff, from the receptionists at the check in to the cleaners, it is a place full of lovely people, always smiling and kind, gentle, professional and friendly. We had excellent breakfasts in a delightful atmosphere due to the quality and kindness of the service. We will definitely be back. Already missing Charlestown!!!

This was an OK hotel, but you paid a heavy 'Poldark' premium, just because of the location.

Location overlooked the bay and was very pleasant. The room was nicely laid out and plenty big enough and breakfast offered a lot of choice for most people.

The details! The room lights were very finnicky to use and sometimes worked, sometimes didn't. The coffee machine and drinks facility was built into the wardrobe, but with no light, it was impossible to see how to use it. The Free WiFi was infuriating as it kept login you out and the speed was slow. Bathroom door was one of the noisiest to open, so if you needed to use it during the night, it guaranteed waking your partner up and probably the next door neighbors too.

Staff were clearly very friendly and welcoming. The food was much as expected. I had expected to find a little fishing village rather than a historic china clay harbour, but that betrays my lack of research.

The room was very cramped, though the facilities provided were fine. I think rooms should have some kind of dim nightlight at floor level to help navigate a way to the bathroom in the dark. The installed dimmable lights were fiddly to set to minmum brightness, which were even then still too bright. Although it was clear in the publicity, the lack of an own car park was a disadvantage.

Location, location and amazing service.

Fabulous location, right on the sea front. The staff couldn't be more charming or helpful. The room on our first night was noisy so they changed us to a quieter room with nno fuss despite being very busy. The little touches in the room, such as a proper local ordnance survey map and beach bag that you can borrow, are a wonderful touch.

The pub is busy when it's sunny and warm because it is such a marvellous location so get down early for dinner.
