Facilities and grounds are lovely. The room was very basic (no coffee machine, fridge or water) but very clean.

The hotel is very beautiful from the outside and the grand architecture and the grounds are stunning for taking a leisurely walk around. There is a grotto in the rear garden and steps up to a viewing point overlooking the hotel facade.
The spa and the room however were a much lower standard, which didn’t reflect the hotel itself which was disappointing. It was very basic and had very grey furnishings. The bathroom was new which was nice, however it was disabled access, so the sink and toilet were very low to the ground. The bed was comfortable, but the cushions on top were dirty.
The spa was very outdated and small, no loungers to put your towel on and the jacuzzi was very small.
Our meal in the resturant was nice, however the drinks came after we had finished our starters. The food was very well cooked and we both enjoyed our meals.
Overall I would say that the cost of the stay was reflective of the standard, it was less than I would usually spend for a night, so I guess you get what you pay for.

Met up with an old friend for a couple of days to catch up . What a gorgeous place . I could have stayed a week and never left the hotel grounds as there is so much to see around the hotel and grounds. Great food and lovely staff . A quirky place with lots of character and exceptional staff

From our arrival to our departure, the staff could not have done more to make this a most memorable experience. We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary, and the staff made every aspect special. The afternoon was delicious and we were not rushed between each course, we sat and reminisced our 40 years enjoying the tasty treats. We were upgraded to a garden room which was spacious and comfortable. Taking a stroll around the grounds was magical, and sipping cocktails, relaxing outside was wonderful. Breakfast was very tasty especially the poached eggs, nothing was too much trouble. The pool facilities were clean and regularly checked. I did take two towels, which was a bit cheeky but needed a separate towel for my head. Those staying at the hotel were equally friendly and I would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.
