I was not at Hotel Vis even though I booked this hotel, because when I went, the hotel was closed, and they sent me to another hotel (Splendid) two blocks ahead. That was not the idea, because we arrived in the rain on a motorcycle, so that was a little bit uncomfortable. So I did not know the Vis Hotel. About the Splendid Hotel, it was also going to shut down for the end of the season, so people were tired with not so much energy to help you. The location was good, the rooms were ok, and it was not good value for what it offered. Acceptable.

Price: overpriced for me according to what they offered.

Wonderful experience - recommend staying here

I did not stay at Hotel Vis - I stayed at Hotel Splendid (right next door). The staff at Splendid were friendly and very helpful. 15 minutes by bus to the Old Town. A special shout out to Romana and and Antonio at the front desk and the breakfast buffet staff. I had a really nice balcony room overlooking Lapad and the gardens at the hotel were beautiful. Wonderful panoramic walk around the bay but definitely too chilly for me to go swimming (Ist week of November)

The single rooms could use an upgrade in particular the bathrooms. This did not affect my stay and despite that the room was great value for the money.

Good place for a short - one-night - stay while visiting Dubrovnik.

We got what we expected from this hotel, i.e. an affordable accomodation with the old city town easily accessible by bus. Parking is at a premium but as we booked two rooms and only were staying one night, we got the parking for free. Breakfast was classic continental and tasty.

The room finishings (trimmings) could have been better. We weren't able to lock the sliding the window to our balcony as the latch was missing. The bathroom was quite archaic and could do with an upgrade.

Great stay!

The room was of a perfect size. I expected the balcony to be facing the ocean, not the parking lot. Breakfast was great with a very large selection to choose from. Everyone at reception was extremely helpful! The terrace was fantastic by the ocean!

Very clean room, spectacular views. Very friendly and helpful staff. Accommodation was good if a little dated. Excellent beachfront location. The breakfast selection was good. The beach was not crowded. Quiet location.

There was no hot water on the morning of our departure. No lift, lots of stairs to climb, especially with heavy baggage.

• Fantastic location, very convenient and in a beautiful area • Lovely beach, great for relaxing • Excellent breakfast with plenty of variety • Overall atmosphere of the hotel Hotel Vis is an amazing hotel with a lot of potential. A few modern upgrades and added guest comforts would make it truly perfect.

• Rooms could use an update to feel more modern • Still using traditional keys instead of key cards • No fridge in the rooms, which is unusual nowadays • No complimentary water provided in the rooms upon arrival • Beach beds are not included—you have to rent them separately (common in Europe, but offering discounts or benefits for hotel guests would be a nice improvement)

A quaint hotel with a beach just 10 minutes from downtown via bus.

Hotel has a beach, “sunset beach” that’s just outside the rooms. Bus stop across the street, 15 minutes to downtown. Can’t complain about my stay one bit.

Being 15 minutes by bus means a Dubrovnik pass almost certainly makes sense, but if you’re visiting for the first time you’ll want one anyway for discounts / free access to the sights.

Would recommend to others but with some advice

Great location outside of the Old Town, with a pebbled beach that has a great view of the sunset. It’s only a 15min bus ride to the Old Town and the bus stop (number 4 bus) is right outside the hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is excellent, and the dinner buffet is worth it given that its cheaper than most main meals at a restaurant. The sea is calm and swimming there is really nice.

The hotel is slightly old fashioned. A fridge in the room would be useful. There are no lifts and we were lucky that we were on the first floor. There’s some kind of karaoke place nearby that goes every night. The sound carries but it stops at a decent time.

An incredible holiday in a beautiful hotel. Feel so relaxed 😎

The hotel was impeccably clean, tidy and well maintained. Our room had the best air conditioning I have experienced and was a large room with a great en-suite. Lovely view of the bay from our balcony, beautiful terrace to sit out on to watch the sunsets. The buffet breakfast and dinner was excellent. The staff were courteous, kind and so helpful. Thank you. 5 stars 🌟

NOT GOOD

The location is great and the beach is easily accessible - great view from room.

The food was AWFUL (we ate out for breakfast as a result) and the hotel wasn't clean (the corridor a bathroom smelt like sewage in the evenings). Some of the staff were rude and wouldn't even let us fill up our water bottles at the bar (it was 30 degrees). The absolute worse part was the fact that the air-conditioning wasn't working and it was 26 degrees at night.

The staff. Particularly Valeria from reception has been so helpful, professional, and supportive from the moment we booked and checked in. The location is great, convenient access to anywhere you need to go. Breakfast was superb. But again, staff and Valeria made the difference.

Lovely area where to stay in Dubrovnik

Staff was friendly, good breakfast, lovely terrace where to chill. Bus stop is in front of the hotel where you can get bus 4 that takes you to the old town in 15 minutes. Room is essential but good size. The area is really nice, in 8/10 mins walk you can find a lot of restaurants where to eat delicious food.

Would have been nice to have a mini fridge in the room. :(

Outside of my room was bliss

The hotel was in a great spot, the egg chairs on the balcony were bliss.

Because I was a solo traveler, I was put in a small room which was fine but it was next to the walkway. The cleaners start vacuuming very early. I went on line and saw if I had booked it now for 2 people I would of got a better room for cheaper. I was moved a few days later after complaining but I was then moved to a room over the staff entrance and the bin change. It definitely was disappointing as I did book this hotel for 2 weeks.

I booked sea facing room but hardly see the sea. I asked for upper floor but couldn't be arranged by the hotel.

The staff were pleasant and helpful to their limited abilities due to powers above them.

The room was tired with broken furniture. The air conditioning didn't work - asked reception for a fan they don't have any whatsoever and told us to sleep with balcony door open. The door was broken in the shower cubicle and there was black mold on the wall. No kettle or drink making facilities. Breakfast was mediocre at best - didn't look or taste appealing

Very nice hotel which had a beach just down from the hotel. Ideal spot away from the old city bustle. Walking distance to local cafes/restaurants. Bus stop just across the road that went into the old city every 20mins.

Perfect!

The location is awesome, just by the beach. It is worderful to have meals in the restaurant terrasse or a drink in the bar ehike enjoying the view. The stuff is very friendly, excellent service provided at all time. The buffet is wonderful, both for breakfast and dinner. Clean place. Bus stop located just in front of the hotel, 10 minutes ride to Dubrovnik old city. All in all, we strongly recommend it!

The manager of the hotel very bad he stole my money. They are very unprofessional. If you want to book something with them they don’t give you any receipt. They don’t give you the rule and if you cancel it, they still wanna charge full money. They don’t have any rules they only take money from you, they charge me £320 extra with no proof and they have contact with the police as well to go there anyone

Old hotel

The location of the hotel was great and the beach too; there's a parking .

The hotel was old, they don't have elevators and have to carry the luggage up the stairs, in our case 4th floor. The breakfast is not good. The furniture of the room was very old and the bed was unconfortable. At the beach you have to pay for the lounge chair and the beach umbrella.
