The location is perfect for easy access to the Malalane Gate at Kruger. The views from the rooms and lookout deck are amazing. Watching hippo and crocodiles in the river, and elephants and buck come down to the river to drink. The food is tasty and large portions, very affordable. The bar service is very reasonably priced, Rooms are comfy, not overly large, but perfectly suited for a couple. Piping hot water and nice water pressure
Unfortunately the town municipal water pump is adjacent to the premises and had broken during our stay. The municipality had installed a temporary pump to extract water from the river, which resulted in a constant hum of the pump running that detracted from the peace and quite that would normally been experienced. Normally you would not hear the municipal pump.

What a lovely experience we had staying at the River House Lodge! We were welcomed with a drink and refresher towels and shown around the property. Which was gorgeous to say the least. Location is absolutely superb on the banks of the Crocodile river! We enjoyed game watching, and even got a visit from an elephant a few meters from the fence. Felt like an extension of our Kruger holiday. We will definitely be visiting again!
