Brilliant Brighton Apt Private Garden Free Parking

Position was great… close to cafes and restaurants.

Great location in Bay St close to the cafes, restaurants, shops and train station. Beds were comfortable, kitchen and bathrooms are modern and the kitchen was pretty well kitted out for a holiday rental apartment. The apartment is located at rhe rear of a large apartment complex on Bay St, and the rear position makes for a very quiet and peaceful stay. Ground floor position with a lift from the underground car park.

Whilst the interior of the apartment is very good, the large outdoor courtyard area was virtually unusable. To be blunt, it was filthy, the tiles caked in dirt and leaves. The garden (if you could call it that) was a mess and a dead possum was found in the garden on our first day. And a rat passed by the rear door at one stage of our stay. . The outdoor table was filthy and unusable. Such a difference to the clean and modern interior of the apartment. The poor outdoor area did not really spoil our stay as we decided we did not need (or want) to use it. But if there were young children staying in this nice 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment, it would be a health risk to allow them to venture into the courtyard. We booked via booking.com but it seemed they they then needed to deal with the local Australian rental agency - AUBNB (not Airbnb). We were inundated with emails and texts from AUBNB from the time of booking to checkout. Their requirements and info needed from us was very over the top and each contact arrived twice. Then we had to provide proof of payment before we were given entry details, even though booking.com had our credit card and we had a confirmation stating “booking confirmed with credit card ending in xxxx”. I sent that confirmation to AUBNB , that was unacceptable. I was required to search my credit card statement, take a pic of the full payment and send it to them. It’s not something one wants to have do whilst on a long road trip. And to top it off, when I searched my CC statement, the payment was noted as paid to AUBNB and their transaction number stated. So they could not be bothered checking their bank record for my payment, but pestered me to do it ☹️. Key collection and return was external to the property, not overly onerous but AUBNB insisted i take a pic of me returning the key to their external key keeper and sending the pic to them.
