About this house rental
"Uan" is a charming cluster of 5 houses surrounding a quiet courtyard. This is one of the newly renovated modern traditional houses, "Uan/Sora". The house was built more than 100 years ago and recently renovated for a vacation home. The house still has an old atmosphere of Kyoto and provides the latest furnishings. It is fully furnished and all necessary appliances will be provided.
The Sora (空) House is a two-story house of 90 m2 and fully renovated in 2018. 3 bedrooms with the total of 9 beds and 3.5 bathrooms, this house is suitable for a large group. In the living room there is a table large enough for 10 people can have seats all together.
There is the full kitchen(cookware, dinnerware, seasonings, a microwave, a toaster oven, a rice cooker, a hot water kettle and more), washing machine/dryer, washing detergent, utilities, and home appliances. Of course, fresh bed/bath linen and toothbrush are provided.
On the first floor, there are two bedrooms. 3 single beds and 1 double bed in Bedroom 1, 2 single beds (can be pushed them together to make a double bed) in Bedroom 2. There is 1 double bed in Bedroom 3 upstairs. Bedroom 2 has an en-suite bathroom and Bedroom 3 has an en-suite shower. There is also another bathroom adjacent to Bedroom 1.
Located in 5 minutes walk from Higashiyama station in the Higashiyama area of Kyoto.
The Higashiyama area is considered the most Kyoto like place in Kyoto. If you are interested in temples, the most prestigious Zen temple in Japan called Nanzen-ji is near the house. Also, Heian shrine, Shoren-in, Chion-in and Yasaka shrine are within a 5-10 minute walk from the houses. You can also walk to Gion area to the downtown in Kyoto.

This was one of our favorite places to stay in Japan. The host was very good at communicating. The home was very well laid out. It was very clean. They gave us a tour of the home when we arrived. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone who wants a great location in Kyoto.

Very clean, seems like it’s pretty newly renovated. 3 bathrooms / showers and 3 bedrooms. The host contacted us beforehand with the info and provided a photo of the actual address to share with a taxi driver. I think the taxi was about USD15 from Kyoto station. There are a couple of subway stations that are close but we had luggage etc.The host met us to show us in. It’s tucked away down an alley/narrow street. Quiet location, which was nice but not far from the bars and restaurants and Kyoto’s main sights. Very nice place, would stay here again.
