About this house rental

Stunning, new 3br/3ba, one-story home in N. Silicon Valley. It is 5 min to HWY 101, within 30 min are 3 major airports (SFO, OAK, SJC) & San Francisco (26 mi), or skip traffic & walk 10 min to the Cal train. At an extra charge*(see below), the back separate Studio provides 3 extra beds and another full bathroom for an additional 5 guests so the whole property can sleep 13 guests, all with REAL beds (no sofa beds or air mattresses)!!

This beautiful house with a Nanny Quarters/Studio unit in back was newly constructed. It has many luxurious upgrades and offers extensive amenities including: granite counter tops, custom wood cabinets, real hardwood floors, 5-burner gas range stove, stainless steel appliances, high speed internet/WiFi, premium cable TV with hundreds of channels and free on demand movie options, a DVD player, Vizio high definition 50" flat screen smart TV with internet capabilities, surround sound system that is bluetooth compatible, jetted jacuzzi master bath tub, a tankless water heater which ensures limitless supply of hot water, Samsung high-efficiency front loading washer/dryer and an outdoor gas BBQ in a fully enclosed backyard with 7' fencing that is ideal for privacy and as a secure play area for children. A generous driveway also ensures convenient off-street parking for 2-3 vehicles.

We can be flexible with check-in/check-out times depending on our reservation schedule.

Available at an additional cost ($145/night + $85 cleaning fee) is a fully equipped Nanny quarters/Studio in back of the main house that can sleep up to an ADDITIONAL 5 GUESTS. So the entire property can SLEEP UP TO 13 GUESTS COMFORTABLY. Your entire party (of 13 guests or less) can have an actual bed to sleep in: no air mattresses or sofa beds! The Studio comes with a full/full bunk bed with a twin-sized trundle bed pull out. However, if you need additional beds, we do also offer a queen-sized air mattress and twin-sized cot which can be used in the main house.

The studio unit contains a completely stocked kitchen (gas range/oven, dishwasher, microwave, full-size refrigerator, large stainless steel sink with garbage disposal) wood laminate floors, custom wood cabinetry, granite counter tops with eat in island, flat screen TV with premium cable and high speed internet/WiFi, 3 piece bathroom with ceramic flooring, recessed lighting, wood blinds, in wall heater and ceiling fan. There is also plenty of storage with 2 extra-large, stand-alone, mirrored-door wardrobes as well as an extra closet off the kitchen. We even have a separate, dedicated washer & dryer for studio guests (a rare convenience for any studio/nanny quarters)!

With advanced notice we can provide additional amenities including:
--queen size air mattress

--mini-crib
--light-weight stroller
--toddler bed rails
--toddler toilet seat
--newborn/infant bath tub
--miscellaneous baby/toddler supplies (just ask us, we probably have it!)
--mini-refrigerators

ABSOLUTELY NO UNAUTHORIZED PARTIES OR GATHERINGS OF ANY TYPE WITHOUT OUR PRIOR CONSENT. Parties/gatherings/events are only allowed with our express consent and will require an additional Venue Fee to be paid as part of your reservation. As we have had several issues with this in the past, any such unauthorized gathering will require the renter and guests to immediately vacate the premises and forfeit the rest of their rental fees as well as the entire $1500 security deposit. If necessary, we will involve the police.

We do have security cameras around the perimeter of the property to ensure added security and safety. However, there are no cameras inside the home.

Parking is free as is street parking, but street parking is challenging in our neighborhood. If renting both the main house and studio, you are allowed to park in the entire driveway which can fit up to 3 vehicles. If renting only the main house, you have dedicated parking for up to 2 vehicles and one spot is reserved for studio guests. If the studio is unoccupied, you are allowed to use the studio spot as well. Please inquire about the extra parking spot if needed.

We were in town to attend a wedding and had family plus aunt, uncle, grandma and band members for the reception, 9 in total. I picked this house because it did not have any stairs. I would say it is ADA compliant. The place was very clean and spacious with plenty of towels and the sheets were sooo soft. 3 bathrooms is a plus, with 1 walk-in shower so grandma doesn't have to climb into the tub to shower. There are also steps to climb into the queen bed since it is very high. We used the steps for the king bed for grandma.We had a little miscommunication where I thought we had also reserved the additional suite, but we all managed to fit it the house. It says the house sleeps 10, but when you configure who sleeps with who, you may end up needing to use the sleeping mats.Very short walk to old town Redwood City where we enjoyed the ice cream and oyster bar.We also were able to fit 2 very large cars in the tandem parking driveway; an Excursion and an Atlas. You may need to go over the curb if the right side of the driveway is occupied. Overall great place!

Great communication with hosts. Great location. Facility met or exceeded expectations. Could use some more attention to everyday needs such as dishwasher soap, sharp steak knives, meat thermometers etc.

We've been using VRBO for over 10 years now, renting properties in many cities including Manhattan, Ashville NC, Savannah GA, DC, etc. and this is the first time we've had a bad experience with the Hosts; it seems that this is nothing personal on their behalf (could be bad past experiences with some guests). Two main things stand out from their set of rules: They make it very clear that they are monitoring you with their cameras at all times, even counting heads to see who comes in and out of the property. This rule made us feel like very uncomfortable/unwelcome; we are from Florida and don't know a lot of people in California. They make you park on the far side of the property in case the rent the guest house while you are on the main property. They are very strict about this rule stating that they reserve the right to rent "guest house" at any time, which is a converted garage in the back of the property/you can see from all the rooms in the main property. Having said that, this property is well equipped and clean, minutes from the highway, shops and restaurants.
