Great set up and really exciting to be woken when the game appeared… We saw lots of game including baby elephants and hyena. Such a good way to get up close. The staff were amazing and friendly, couldn’t have been more helpful. Fully stocked bar and plenty of yummy food at the buffet. Bird feeding time was fun too. Log fire and blankets for cold nights and hot water bottle in the bed. What a unique experience! We’re so glad we stayed.

Donot provide drinking water with lunch or dinner / one had to buy drinking water during breakfast , lunch or dinner - which I think is very basic and should be included as a part of the cost they charge

The Ark is very tired. It needs a sincere makeover to get it back to its former glory and be of a standard found in many cheaper locations in Kenya these days.
I have been to this hotel many times and usually I love it. It is however very tired. Not as clean as it should be. The staff seem to have been there forever and while this is good in some ways it brings a sense of complacency that can no longer be afforded to hotels in Kenya anymore because there is so much choice.
