About this cottage rental
Situated at the front right corner of the semi-circle of Rocky Shores cottages, Cottage 19 is private and quiet, but close enough to the beaches and downtown Rockport, Massachusetts to let you enjoy the surrounding area from your serene home base.
The cottage's two bedrooms sleep four comfortably. The master bedroom features a full-size pillow-top bed, while the second bedroom has a 'day bed' with a separate trundle that is used to sleep two separately. The cottage is simply and tastefully decorated, and very clean.
The cottage's bathroom was renovated in 2011 and features a full shower; the kitchen has with a full-size refrigerator, microwave, stove/oven, toaster, Keurig coffee maker, and dining table.
The natural wood floors were refinished in 2013, and the windows were replaced in 2015.
When you're not gazing out at the sea and the Thacher Island Twin Lighthouses from the patio or the living area, you can enjoy the cable HDTV or use the DVD player.
The heart of Rockport is bustling Bearskin Neck, where you can find shops, galleries and restaurants to suit just about every taste and whim. The Shao Lin Performance Center is a new addition to Rockport and features performances by nationally- and internationally-known artists in a beautiful setting.
If you have the urge to visit a more cosmopolitan area, Boston is a one-hour train ride away (the train stops at the depot location less than a half mile from Bearskin Neck).
Most people find that the history and culture of the North Shore offer numerous activities for all ages, but simply sitting outside the cottage and enjoying the view is guaranteed to provide a wonderful opportunity to relax and replenish!
Note: Although we are pet lovers (and owners), we do not allow pets in the cottage.

A charming cottage with a wonderful view of the ocean. The kitchen is compact but well-equipped. Check-in was easy. Gail provided clear directions and was very responsive. Two parking spaces located near the cottage. A perfect location for exploring Gloucester and Rockport.

The location is beautiful—and the view. The cottage is comfortable and has everything needed. Doors need to be fixed and locks/latches replaced. The middle bedroom door latch is broken and the door cannot be closed. The front door lock needs to be fiddled with repeatedly before the key will turn. The back door is "not to be used" at all, and this is a fire hazard. Also, instead of surge protectors for the few outlets in the bedrooms and living room, there are lots of multi-plugs and extension cords—could be a fire hazard, along with the back door that mustn't be opened. The owner needs to take better care of the cottage.

The place is à bit small for 4 adults. There is not enough room to put all our things for a whole week. The beds were really confortable and clean.
