Good potential outside the room is stunning

The location outside look stunning, close to the beach and have a lot of sharing area that designed special . The staff were very helpful. There is 2 pools and good CO work areas

The room facilities are old, not the clean. Sometimes there was not hot water in the shower and the worst part- there is party from the beach that you hear until 4 AM BE Careful. I slept terrible for 3 nights and wanted to change a room but all of them have a noise.. I tried to sleep with headphones but it destroyed the whole experience.. if you want to sleep a good night don’t got there.. it’s not Selina fault but the room don’t block any noise .( also like 50 stairs each time to arrive to the room)

Great location close to zicatela beach and beach bars. We stayed in a teepee which was fun!!

Bathrooms not the cleanest, room was small, noise at night time but it's fine if you have ear plugs.

Reserved a 4-bed dorm and was put in a 6-bed dorm. They did not put more than 4 people in the room, however the dorm looked way older and less cared for than the one in the picture.

Refound needed

Nothing, it’s a scam that show photos that are fake. The place is in ruin. No common area usable, the “cinema” doesn’t exist and it’s just a room used as deposit, the common kitchen doesn’t work and it’s dirty.

The girls at the bar are gentle and try their best. A part from letting homeless people in and next to the table, and using the toilet and shower.

Amazing views, good location, just not soundproof.

This place was so beautiful! You feel like you are staying in a jungle paradise! Fantastic views of the beach and a great location. The food in the bar was actually really good too.

Although this isn’t the hostel’s fault, it’s something to be aware of. Our room was facing the beach (great!) but there was music playing along the strip until 5am and we couldn’t get over how loud it was. It sounded like there was speakers in our room, it was that loud. We usually aren’t bothered by street noise but this was another level. Something to be aware of if you are a light sleeper etc

Really great place to stay

Loved my tipi room so clean and comfortable. It’s a great area super central there food is great. The pool area so nice. Staff is super nice and friendly. People that stay there also super friendly. Would super come back to stay. 1000% recommended.

Good location and value!

The atmosphere and location were great! The staff were all super helpful and the events planned for each evening in the social area was a good way to get to know other guests. There was also co-working space and chill out areas. It was definitely the most unique hostel I have visited, set across 4 or 5 levels with insane views of the beach! The location on Playa Zicatela was perfect, it was convenient from the town centre to walk to the bank when we needed cash, close to many lavandarias, 15mins to the airport and many bars/restaurants. It felt more convenient than La Punta, even though the other side seemed more 'trendy'. The onsite restaurant was also great, delicious food, friendly staff and great value! Would stay here again!

Our only issue was the toilet not flushing in our room. We were in an 8-bed dorm on the 2nd floor of rooms, and it was quite a hassle to keep using the common area bathrooms since our room toilet was always not working for the 4nights that we stayed in this room.

Fantastic location and great communal facilities and restaurant, but the room was not as expected

Great location, close to Puerto Escondido, and by possibly the best beach in the area, playa Zicatela, with a lot of very nice beach clubs nearby. Communal facilities, bar and restaurant at this property are what it is worth staying for at this place, the facilities improved my rating of this place. The room we had was nice and big, with a balcony overlooking the ocean and the bay. The view was just stunning.

Be prepared to climb a lot of steps. We had to climb 106 steps to go to our room, but then the view from our room was spectacular! Also initial disappointment because the photos on the website and the room we have been given were completely different, and had nothing to do with the advertisement on the site. We complained with the receptionist and then the manager; they have been helpful and gave us a discount, since the room we booked on-line was occupied and this is why they gave us another room. At the end we were happy since they recognised our expectations were mislead by the photos on the website, and the room was nice anyway. Unfortunately we had the same issue with Selina in Cancun, where they initially gave us the wrong room.

Dorms are small, packed and without curtains. If you don't ask for the reception "forgets" to return 200 pesos deposit for the key.

I liked the vibe, the ambience, the people and the party themes. Also the free classes.

That I had to ask for things such as towels and basic information. The shared toilets weren’t that good.

Don't miss Selina in pto Escondido!

Great location, with 2 pools to cool off and friendly and helpful staff. They have several types of rooms for all budgets and they are all well maintained and clean. The a/c and wifi worked great. Coffee shop in the front has great food too. The wellness area and the library have the best view and breeze. I hanged out there quite a bit.

Pleasant

It was nice to be able to meet some other travelers and the location is fine. We really liked the rooftop pool!

The parties go on until late and this was really not what we expected and what we were looking for, as this is marketed as a co-working hostel we were surprised to be up until 2 am in the morning because of the loud music. The pictures make it seem a lot nice than it is, our room was quite old and the kitchen did not have proper cooking facilities. Also be aware when dropping of laundry to check the price with the service itself, as we were told it would be 60 pesos however had to pay a lot more than we expected, if we would have known before we might have looked for a different service.

DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE

The only thing that was good about this place was it was by the sea! That was a treat, but it was also next to a dance club which also means forget sleeping if noise is a problem for you.

When I checked in I was told that co-working was not included in the price, you have to pay an addition 300 pesos extra! That's the only reason I booked Selina to begin with, cause I had a work call that was important and it's a co-working place. It's like booking surfing lessons to show up and be told that the surfing board is going to cost extra. When I showed them my booking and asked where does it say it's not included, he answered me "Where does it say it is included?". I just assumed it was included cause it's a CO-WORKING HOSTEL! hahah He then proceeded to tell me that they've never had the problem before and I was being difficult. I was then told that I can get a refund and check in somewhere else if I am unhappy. It was 9 pm and he knew I wasn't going to do that, but the fact that he said that was so indicative on how they see customers. He ended up giving me a pass for the co-working. I wanna say it wasn't his fault,I believe that a staff treats customers how management treats staff. They need a serious re-training and make sure that their staff is happy to work there. You can tell they are not. Selina is one of the biggest name in the hostels in the world, fix this. - There were no plugs by my bed. - Loud club music until late at night - It was dirty (see picture) - Bed was uncomfortable - Not easy to meet other traveler if you're solo - Not worth what you're paying aka overpriced + There is a bar + Views over the ocean

It was great!

I loved the pool and the vibe.

The free drink was only between 5-6 pm which made me sad cause I was going to the beach for the sunset. Drinks took a long time to receive in the evening but staff was very nice

Save your money and stay elsewhere

BELIEVE THE REVIEWS. I cannot reiterate this enough - the staff here are THE RUDEST AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING. Bar staff conveniently tell you they have no change for the notes you give them so take the whole amount and there's a miserable woman who says NO to everything from an entire group of us asking them to turn down the horrendous music at 3pm to not letting us consume anything outside of the kitchen. Finally, book a private room and you won't even be provided with soap!

Great breakfast, but just that.

I liked the location and the breakfast.

The room was in bad conditions, like the door and lockers and even though is a share room, I don't understand why staff there treats you poorly. I was confuse if this was a general treatment with everyone or just with mexican people. I did not felt confortable. The beds are average and not comfortable.

Nice hostel, a lot of activities but poor value for money

The room was super clean, the bathroom as well. The staff is friendly, and they are organizing activities every nights. Although I think the best part was the coffee in the coffee shop, it super delicious, at a reasonable price. The wifi there is also super fast.

My bed was just under the air con and it was super cold. It kept me from sleeping, I went to ask to turn it off but it wasn't possible, they could only raise it of 1 degree. The hostel is super nice but I don't think it justify the price.
