Tuscan villa between San Giovanni D'Asso and Montalcino

We had such an amazing time staying at Angela and Alessandro's beautiful villa! Angela is such a gracious host she even baked 2 delicious crostatas for us. The house is situated on top of a hill with the most beautiful view one can ask for, overlooking rolling the Tuscan rolling hills and the most amazing sunsets. There were days where we would be out and couldn't wait to get back to the house to hang out in the garden and enjoy the view. It is spacious and very cozy and unpretentiously and tastefully decorated with most of the original 18th details still intact. Each room has their own bathroom which really helps as there were 5 of us. Montalcino is very close by and there are also really good restaurants in San Giovanni d'Asso and Buonconvento, all a short drive away. Make sure to check out the local hot spring which is mentioned in the guide book that Angela and Alessandro had put together on recommended things to do in the vicinity. The road leading to the house is an incredibly beautiful drive too, great for a run if you are a runner. Of course, all this would mean nothing if it wasn't for the warm hospitality of the hosts. Grazie mille, Angela, Alessandro and Adele for everything and all the lovely memories! We will definitely come back again!

We were welcomed to Montechiari by owners Angela and Alejandro and their daughter Adela. They made sure our family (eight of us - teenagers to grandparents) were comfortable and settled into their lovely villa, complete with a glass of wine in the garden! There was more than enough space for all of us - four bedrooms, four baths, kitchen, living room, patio and gardens. The location was excellent, close to all of the little Tuscan towns and postcard picture sites, but a car is necessary. This villa is the place to be to get away and relax. You will be surrounded by rolling hills, peace, quiet and beauty. We highly recommend staying at Montechiari if you want to visit Tuscany – Angela, Alejandro and Adela will take good care of you!
