Mould ans damp in the rooms inwas with my toddler and was not satisfied

I have been using this hotel for years as the location is perfect for me. The room sizes are great. The staff are lovely.

The hotel & rooms are clean but it is so sad that they do not appear to spend any money maintaining it. The grouting between the bathroom tiles have gone black. Some are cracked. The bathroom floors are uneven with holes underneath the Lino. That is old, torn & stained in places. My light was hanging on by the wires. TV remote control was cracked. The hotel & rooms smell very musty. The walls are covered in marks. The prices continue to rise over the years. I will be considering elsewhere. I really hope they improve it.

The breakfast was good.

Everything was incredibly dirty, stains on the pillows and bed sheets, a lamp was broken, the bathroom floor was full of old food and the rug was very dirty. The smoke detector was covered with a dirty sock, the toilet was visibly dirty and the smell was unbearable everywhere.

Staff let themselves in are room after we checked in . Long wait to be checked in . Kids running around all night loud music being played all night . Bathroom needs updating felt the tiles were dirty

For the price, it was what we expected. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. Staff were all nice. Reception staff greeted us whenever they saw us. Good value for money.

Bed was comfy, large room

Having to wait a good 20 minutes along with other guests as there was no one on reception, even when another visitor had tried to call the staff on mobile if no one was on the desk. I also tried and was unable to get anyone, one of the visitors had to go over to the pub for staff. Isn't really what you'd expect considering the grounds are scenic. The main room light was flickering on and off, lamps heavily coated in dust.

We were put in the ground floor, which is sadly suffering with damp, no life, carrying cases was hard for an old woman like me …lol ( I forgot to request accessible)

Very dated lots of marks on walls missing furniture no sockets beside beds the fact it had decent smart tv but unable use features such as YouTube or casting.broken tiles in bathroom. 3rd bed on the floor. Outdated electrical stickers on everything.

No toilet paper in restuarant for the full 3 days stay. Shortage of toilet paper in the room also. Room not serviced throughout the stay. Mouldy shower curtain and bath and awful smell.

Location good for me for 1 night. Breakfast very good. Room is fair for the price.

Bathrooms in desperate need of updating, cracked tiles, bit grubby in corners, rooms in need of deep clean, rubbish left in bedside unit again bit grubby. Corridor carpets looking little sad.

Dont think we liked anything except the fact that it was on our way while going to our destination . I will prefer people keep away from this place .

Where to start . The family room had a mattress on the floor for the 2nd kid and it was not a good one . No toilet paper and no one at the reception. no shops open around as it was a sunday night . kids struggled in the toilets. waited for ages for someone to show up at the reception. called the number but went to voicemail . even SMS no one replied. one lady waiting at reception to be signed in. she said shes been waiting 40 mins and she was very tired . whole night without toilet paper gave the kids a hard time . hot weekend and windows were not opening . even fan was not working but no one to complaint to . couldnt sleep all night . thought to go and sleep in the car but was not sure how the area was as dont want to risk it with the kids . No sleep meant a bad headache next day that ruined the weekend and the holiday .

We booked a family room and got a double

The website is misleading in that the actual accommodation is NOT in the main house but an annexe behind the main building. This is obviously an ideal overnight hotel for your average contractor or anyone who doesn’t require any refinement in their stay.

Devoid of any character whatsoever, it is tired, outdated and unhealthy. We were allocated Room 22 and after finally getting attention to get checked in (the chap on reception was pleasant enough), our room was on a lower floor. Upon opening the door to descend the stairs, there is a musty smell of damp, wallpaper peeling off of the wall and was generally gloomy with a lack of natural light. The room was a decent size but that is where it ends. The room was dark with minimal natural light due to the colour scheme and backing on to trees. It also backs on to the M6 which we were not made aware of. The date of our stay, it was rather hot and the window opened partially meaning that ventilation was minimal; the overall issue is that the car noise from the main road was unbearable but to close the window would mean that no air would get into the room. There was no fan to move the air around so the choice was to put up with the road noise or be stifled with the heat. The road noise was continuous throughout the night. The secondary glazing was completely useless as a noise barrier. Given that the room was for a couple, there was the usual desk and chair but it could have done with a small table and an additional tub chair. The TV had a broken aerial plug - this should have been reported by housekeeping and repaired before the room was ready to be occupied. Even worse, the bathroom has at some time been flooded as the floor in front of the basin was like a sponge - sunken and clearly damaged. Add to this there was no plug for the plug-hole, the toilet seat was loose and the cistern didn’t flush easily. And just look at the state of one of the pillows! We have stayed in Greene King pub/hotels previously and all of them had character and were comfortable. This was a complete disaster and whoever is responsible for the state of it should perhaps be held accountable and have their abilities to manage questioned. Luckily we only needed to stay for one night.

The breakfast was very good and value for money and the location was very good both for the meeting I attended and being near the M6 was good.

My toilet seat was very loose and the toilet would not flush and there were no tea cups in the room

Great location, comfy beds. Good sized rooms. We required a travel cot for our one year old, which was no problem, they even supplied blankets with the cot too. It was a hot weekend and the staff set up a fan in the room knowing we had a small child. Friendly staff nothing was too much trouble.
