About this villa rental

New to the market, fully renovated with a spectacular view of the Rade of Villefranche. Easy walking distance into town and the beach. This offers the best of both worlds, a private view and situation but the convenience of being in town. It is a light, airy, uncluttered space to truly relax in. With a lift to every level in the house, it also suits those who find the steps of Villefranche too much sometimes!

Villa Claire is absolutely magnificent. Very accommodating for a family or couples. The en-suite bedrooms and living spaces are well done and comfortable. The outdoor spaces are amazing including the pool area. The villa views are second to none. Tamsin and Christian were beyond responsive, accommodating, courteous, generous and friendly. I would rent from them again without hesitation. Our family of 8 had an amazing experience all around with this rental.

We traveled as a group of 8 (adults to toddlers) and stayed for a week at Villa Claire. The property was perfect. Clean and comfortable with the most spectacular views! The pictures can only show so much - the view is even more incredible in person. The pool was a great way to end the day with the bay lit up at night below you after a hot summer day. Kitchen fully equipped. The elevator to get in and out tremendous. Each bedroom had its own en suite and the beds comfortable. Check in was great and Tamsin was incredibly helpful. We rented a car and used the home as a way to get all over the French Riviera - the location was perfect for trips to Eze, Menton, Monaco, St Paul de Vence, Cannes, Antibes and, of course, Nice. The beach below is a steep walk back up but out of shape 50 years olds made it back up in about 20 minutes with no problem! Could not have had a better week and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Renting a Villa for just the 3 of us was perhaps a bit OTT but having the space to relax for the week was a welcome luxury. Highlights were the view and the pool. I would recommend having a car if possible but in saying that Uber worked just fine for us.

Villa Claire was even better than expected! Our group of seven adults enjoyed a weeklong visit. The Villa was very clean and set up just as advertised. We loved having en suite bathrooms with each bedroom snd spent a lot of time on the terrace enjoying the view. The kitchen is well-equipped and the host was very easy to communicate with. We would definitely recommend a stay here!

My friends and I rented this villa for a week during the Monaco Gran Prix. The house is nice and large with amazing views. We were very happy with the property and the amenities. The rooms all have air condition, the garage is nice to store rental car and vespas. We also enjoyed the time spent in Villefranch-sur-mer. It is close to nice and to Monaco. We walked to the train station and to dinners in town, it's not far but uphill is a bit of a hike. I recommend this villa!

Clean and updated property with everything we needed. The hostess, Tamsin was a wonderful greeter and helper. We had a chilly stay, but enjoyed it all very much.

A party of 8 stopped at the villa during the first few weeks of the rugby World Cup. A lovely property with exceptional service from Tamsin & Christian, our hosts. Beautifully clean and extremely well kitted out. Big plus point is the covered garage with room for two cars. Steep was down to and up from the village but good for fitness! The lift from the garage to the upper floors of the villa is a big bonus. Christian and Tamsin were very helpful indeed and very responsive. I would completely recommend to anyone needing a large villa. Thank you Christian & Tamsin.

Beautiful remodel with stunning views. However we dealt with non working microwave and oven, black mold in two lower level bedrooms, blown TV speaker and sewer smell in 3rd level bathroom. The positive in this was that Tamsin and her husband responded quickly and was able to install a new oven, repair the microwave and speaker and temporary remedy the sewer smell but unfortunately it came back. As to the two lower bedrooms, we only needed 3 of the 5 bedrooms so no one went back down there after the first night, Also be aware that a walk downtown is relatively easy going down but lots and lots of steps coming back up. The best thing about this house is the incredible terrace and views of the Mediterranean.

Beautiful home with expansive balconies and views! Comfortable, clean, spacious, and perfect for family vacation stays. Each bedroom has its own en suite bathroom and also a full bath on the living area floor. Bedroom furniture is simple, basic and could use some interior decorating pointers, but beds are very comfortable. Well stocked kitchen with induction cooktop. Recommend replacing coffee pot. During our stay a few glitches arose, and response by property manager, Tamsin & her husband Christian was immediate and prompt. Tamsin was also very helpful in answering some of the questions we posed about the area. Kudos to both! A great plus is that the home has an elevator going from the garage and stopping at each of the three floors as walk up to top floor is over ninety winding steps and not easily managed by everyone. Our family loved it and I would definitely return and stay there again!

Really enjoyed our stay. The house was nicely equipped with everything you would need to enjoy your stay. The pool was fantastic, very private offering incredible views of the Mediterranean. Overall, we had a lovely time!

We stayed here for a week and it it was absolutely amazing. We had two families and plenty of room and privacy. Ensuite in every bedroom, air conditioning throughout, pool was a great size and temperature and the view - out of this world!! There are a lot of stairs to navigate but we saw this as a good way to keep fit and balance all the great food we ate - 80 stairs from entrance to front door and lost count of how many stairs to get down to the old town!! The walk to the old town and beach took about 20 minutes and was manageable twice per day but probably not too easy for elderly. Taxi from old town to the villa at was 15-20 euros (fixed price). Some fantastic restaurants - highly recommend Les Garçons. Amazing walk to Nice around the coast (10km and can take bus back) and also can do the loop of Saint John Cap Ferrat (16km). Hired a a small boat from the marina with skipper for half day and went to Monaco with swimming in beautiful spots along the way (680 euros all up for boat, skipper and fuel - can take 10-12 people). Did some day trips to Menton and Antibes as well - easy to get to from the train. You can get by without a car but handy for food shopping or getting back up the hill. Such a relaxing place and you will never get tired of the view - watching all of the amazing yachts come in and out of the harbour day and night! Highly recommend!!

We spent a week in this home and couldn’t stop gawking at the view… exceptional. All bedrooms have a terrace with the same stunning view. The house has lots of great spaces for groups. The pool too was a great size and was well appointed with nice sun loungers. Tamsin was a dream to work with… super quick and responsive. Her husband welcomed us and also handled the checkout and was equally as kind. The decor of the house is dated, but everything was in perfectly functioning order. Elevator and garage were great. As noted by other reviewers, the kitchen was very well stocked with plates, glasses, etc. Layout is a bit tough to see on the photos. Starting at the top is the roof. No furniture there but easily accessible and massive. Next floor down (3) is the main entertaining floor with the banner terrace, kitchen, living room. Next down is floor 2 with three very good sized bedrooms all with closets and bathrooms. Next down is floor 1 with two slightly smaller bedrooms but still gorgeous terraces and views. A great place.

Villa Claire is an outstanding Villa in the beautiful seaside town of Villefranche sur Mer. I celebrated my birthday there with 4 girlfriends there and it was perfect. The large balcony was our favorite spot with beautiful views of the sea and town. It was well equipped with glassware, plates, cookware and air conditioning. The elevator was an added bonus since the Villa is on 3 levels. The manager of Villa Claire was easy to contact and assessable when ever we had a question. Best birthday party ever!!

Pros: Villa has fabulous outside space - we lived on the terrace and used the pool frequently Views are epic Good location for trains and buses (although quite a trek up the hill) Air con was very welcome as was the lift Cons: Bedroom furniture was basic/mismatched which does not show up in the photos. Table and chairs by the pool were unusable because they hadn't been cleaned. Kitchen is small if you are looking to prepare/cook food for a larger group. The ice maker was not working. May have overlooked some of these areas however the communication from the host after leaving was not well considered. We were accused of damaging a kitchen cupboard and I quote from a text message "I'll have to report it to the owners and see how much a new door will be. It's pretty obvious as it is right at eye level. I'll also have to switch to the website so (the issue is recorded) there.". This message was followed by another one "Ignore my message which you may or may not have seen about the kitchen cupboard door. It was regarding a mark which the owner says she did herself ages ago and none of us have ever noticed." If the mark was so obvious why had the host and cleaners not noticed before? This issue was raised when we were at the airport - it sadly tainted the villa and was a big downer on our holiday. If some thought had been given to talking to the owners before raising it with me then it could have been completely avoided.

After considerable research and contemplation, I selected this property for vacationing in Villafranche Sur Mer. There was no disappointment. The views exceeded expectations. The pool is an incredible luxury in this town. The property location was perfect for us, fairly short walk to old town and the beach. The kitchen included a great collection of tools, plates, and glassware. I would like to see the owners add full length mirrors to the bedrooms (hang them on doors perhaps) and the mattresses could be upgraded. Regardless, this is truly a 5 star property with justifiable value. The property manager Tamsin was also very responsive and sensitive to our needs. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
