One of only a few direct Oceanfront beach cottages left in Carolina Beach that is great for families. Sit on the front porch and watch waves or get up and have a cup of coffee on the porch to a beautiful sunrise. Direct beach views and access. This home was built in 1966 and owned by the same family for 55 years. This cottage offers an incredible beach retreat that is reminiscent of simpler times. Excellent surf break in front of home which is only 100 yards from the Tiki bar. You will enjoy "Mike's Beach", the private beach area at the base of the porch steps on the oceanfront. Want to get away from the beach crowds? You have your own private area to retreat to where you can sun, listen to music, make your own drinks or cookout on the Weber grill.

The best place to stay if you want to be right on the water in Carolina Beach! Public beach access is right next to the house. The place is clean, the kitchen is well stocked if you want to prepare meals instead of going out to dinner all the time and there is a washer and dryer in the home. Note that if you have little kids, the bathroom only has a stand up shower, there is no bath tub. Our family of three was perfectly comfortable here and I loved reading outside on the back porch while listening to the waves crash on the ocean. The host is friendly and very quick to respond. Don’t forget to bring your own towels and beach chairs/umbrella.

We had another wonderful visit to this special cottage. As usual, it was very clean and well stocked. Perfect location for a relaxing escape! Mike is a delightful host!

We absolutely loved this house! It’s clear that the owner takes great care of this property. The furnishings were very nice and cozy. The beds were comfortable. Everything was clean. The outdoor areas are so lovely and well maintained. The outdoor seating is really nice and kept up and the hammocks were a big hit with our teens! We also liked having beach chairs provided. We somehow missed in the listing that towels are not provided so we picked some up from the Dollar General. There’s plenty of local rental companies that you can rent towels from too. Thanks to the owner, Michael, for sharing his home. Our family can’t wait to return to this little gem!
