Situated in the heart of Deep Creek Lake, Canoe Cottage offers you amazing lake views, spectacular sunrises and easy access to favorite activities!
Upon entering the spacious main level, your eyes will be drawn to windows that reveal picturesque lake views. The great room will be a popular gathering spot to recap the fun you had that day. Adding to your living space, there is a separate sunroom where the kids can watch TV.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to make favorite meals for family and friends. There is ample seating in the kitchen and at the dining table so that everyone can share great food and good conversation.
Furnished with a good night's sleep in mind, the main level bedroom has a queen bed. There is a bathroom with a shower stall on this level as well.
Upstairs, the den is a cozy spot with two queen sleeper sofas. It is the perfect spot to curl up with a good book or to catch an afternoon catnap. There are three bedrooms on this level that each have a queen bed and a TV. You will also find another bedroom with a double bed. Each one is decorated so that you sleep well and wake up ready to tackle Deep Creek Lake adventures!
The lower level family room further expands your living space. You can kick-back and watch TV to enjoy a relaxed evening at home.
You will love spending time outdoors at Canoe Cottage! The deck overlooks the grassy lawn and the lake's sapphire blue water. Sunrise views will thrill the early-birds in your crew. The property was generally in fairly good condition. However, the steps up to the deck were not secure enough and seemed to be an accident waiting to happen. They need some work additional supports. Also, there is a leak in the ceiling in the dining area. When we discovered it, we placed a pan to collect the water. There were a few significant storms during our stay, so times of vacancy could result in additional water damage. Also, some of the chairs in the dining area were not well-supported and could be dangerous to sit on. In all, we had a good week but wanted to point out these safety concerns to avoid an accident in the future.

I waited a couple weeks to give my review because I wanted to take all of the emotion out of it. It’s a shame because this place has a lot of potential. First of all the place was filthy. There was trash underneath the beds, it looked like someone wiped boogers all over the wall in my room, and signs everywhere that proper cleaning has been neglected for quite sometime. Many of the blinds are water stained as well as some walls, and we did see a couple roaches alive. Secondly, there are so many small repairs that need to be made especially for safety’s sake. The deck stairs had a couple stairs that didn’t seem safe. The gate was broken at the top of the stairs. There were two chairs on the deck that we discovered were broken after sitting in them. The ceiling is leaking in at least three of the rooms. We had to find pots to catch the water during a good rain that we got one day. There was also a lack of knowledge from the property management company over whether or not the place had air conditioning. I messaged them three times trying to get some clarity because I brought my elderly parents and was told there was no air conditioning. We planned accordingly bringing a portable one for my parents and surprise surprise it did have some air conditioning. The hot tub was nice and it was nice to have the lake front view and dock for our boat. We did enjoy using the pool table as well. It’s a shame because like I said the place has a lot of potential but it needs some love!
