About this house rental
Perched on the corner of Ocean Park overlooking Nantucket Sound and across the street from the beach, this elegant home in Oak Bluffs historic Copeland District is one of the premiere houses on Martha's Vineyard. Wide porches surround three sides of the house. A glass enclosed porch with antique wicker swings is the perfect spot to enjoy band concerts in the gazebo, view the annual August fireworks display, or simply enjoy the ocean across the street. A side porch with a large teak table invites grilling and al fresco dining, while another porch offers a table for breakfast or lunch and plush arm chairs for watching the sun rise, reading, napping, or enjoying an unobstructed view of the Atlantic Ocean and the horizon.
Across the street from the beach and a five minute walk to the town of Oak Bluffs, the Flying Horses Carousel, and the ferry terminal, this home is perfectly situated. In addition to six light-filled, airy bedrooms, (one with an anteroom that sleeps 2) an open attic loft with picture windows and two skylights sleeps four.

We just returned from our week in Oak Bluffs. The house was spacious enough for our large family and had a wonderful large porch where we started and ended all of our days. The pool table was a treat and the large outside table was perfect for our outside meals. The private hot/cold outside shower was a treat when returning from our beach days. The location of the house is great, no car needed as you can walk to the town and beach with ease. The loft room was great for the kids, they had their own full bath as well as ocean and park views on either side. We are ready to rent again next year!

This house was perfect! Spacious, airy, couldn't find a better location. We spent our time at the beach a few steps away, reading on one of the porches, eating, and totally relaxing! House is spotless, beautifully appointed, comfortable but not shabby. Great newly renovated kitchen, though we cooked on the outside grill often.
We left the kids and grandkids at home this time - yay! - but the house is so comfortable and large - and town, beach, Flying Horses carousel, etc are minutes away - that we plan to bring them next year. Maybe.

This is our fourth stay at this beautiful home! The rooms are large, welcoming and clean. Every room has an ocean view. There is a caretaker on premises and the owner called to make sure everything was alright. The beach is directly across the street and downtown Oak Bluffs is 5 minutes away and Ocean Park right out the front door. You really don't need a car (we parked ours and used it once). This is a home to make great vacation memories!

While we love the location and space, the house is in need of serious TLC. There are several bathrooms but only 1 shower, besides the outdoor shower. Many windows had rotted through so badly that they would not stay open or were literally crumbling into pieces. Many drawers and doors would not open or were quite tough to open. The house gets very warm and there is no AC, making the 3rd floor essentially unusable, and several of the bedrooms nearly unbearable. The yard is great, but the sprinklers continually go on throughout the day and night, making it difficult to play any games in the yard. Its a crumbling gem full of potential, but as it stands right now, it is just not worth the price.
