Ohio River Guest House

This house is absolutely amazing! The house is a short walk to the Ohio river which was absolutely amazing to wake up to. Definitely a place where we were able to come together as a family. We did notice there was a bit of dust and there were a couple of what we thought were lady bugs inside, turns out it’s another form of invasive beetle. There were plenty of instructions on how to maintain the property which were easy to follow but some of the short falls were we had to bring our own towels and sheets. We did travel from California to Ohio so having to stop to look for cheap sheets and towels was not on our list to do but had to incorporate it into our plans. The dryers timer is inaccurate so had to play with the settings a bit to get our clothing dry and we did find some expired items around the house to include medication in a first aid kit and items in the pantry/refrigerator. We will stay here again in the future just be better prepared with the linen situation.

Wonderful house! Very cozy. Loved sitting on the deck and watching the river. Had a great stay! Very quiet and relaxing.

This is a beautiful property!We stayed here from Friday pm until Monday am in early May 2026. Unfortunately right after waking up on Sunday around 10 am the power went out (not due to an outage in the area or weather) with the power went the water (so no toilets flushing or showers) we waited around all day wondering when or if it would be back on with no time given. At 5:30pm we were thinking about packing up to leave before it got dark I checked in with Linda again and was told she would call the electric company I got an eta for 6:30p. AEP turned it back on…it only took a couple minutes at the pole. Had to wait another hour for the maintenance guy to come and get the water going. Tried to do our laundry that I had planned to do during the day Sunday -we made sure to get a place with a washer and dryer for that reason. After the electric and water came back on we found the washer and dryer didn’t work.Washer kept tripping a breaker and shutting off.Finally got it done hours later by standing guard and in the dryer before bed only to find our clothes wet when we woke. Ran the dryer all morning but still ending up with wet clothes to be redone once we got home. There was no apology or anything else offered for this inconvenience disappointing for what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend getaway!Also fyi make sure to bring toilet paper, trash bags & linens or pay an extra per person for linens and access to get down the hill is beside the other houses driveway
