About this villa rental

270 Oia's View Cavehouse VI, carved into the mountain, offers views towards the village of Oia, the Aegean islands and the mesmerizing Sunset. Featuring a private swimming pool and a beautifully landscaped garden, it combines the values of space and privacy: the heart and soul of a travelling experience.

The Villa consists of one cave with has natural lighting and immediate access to the outdoor space with the swimming pool and the built sitting area.
Entering the Villa you find the livingroom and the dining area. The open space bedroom with the built bed is adjacent to the living room so that someone can enjoy the view from wherever he stands. Two smaller cavities, each one on each side of the livingroom are the fully equiped kitcen on the right and the spacious bathroom (with hydro massage shower) on the left.
Inside the villa, the bright colours, the minimal decoration and the carefully adjusted lighting create an ambient interior. On the outside, the dominating grey colour blends effortlessly with the Santorinian land.

Cavehouse VI is part of the 270 Oia’s View complex, located just 700m from the main pedestrian street of Oia and with a number of quality restaurants nearby. The guest can enjoy privacy away from the crowds but also visit the village within a few minutes. The famous hiking trail that connects Oia with Fira is also adjacent to the property providing the unique experience of walking along the edge of the caldera cliff while enjoying the amazing views.
Although Oia is a protected village where vehicles are not allowed to cross, our location offers the rare advantage of car accessibility and free parking space for our guests. In addition, the nearest bus stop is in 50m in case someone wishes to use public transportation.

Our Guest Service team will be at your disposal even prior to your arrival to organise your check in and anything you need or wish to enjoy during your stay (transfer, car rental, cruises, winery tours, helicopter rides etc).

E. Vasilakis, architect and owner, designed and constructed the project during the period of 2008-2011 with extreme respect to the natural landscape and the well known Santorinian traditional bioclimatic architecture. High quality materials combined with the traditional methods of Santorini’s technicians gave an outcome of excellent minimal aesthetic and fully functional interior spaces completely adapted to the unique scenery.

I wanted to stay in a cave house in Oia and researched every one that suited a couple. This was not my first choice, I chose another of Manos's properties but it was booked so don't hang about, they are very popular. I booked for seven nights just out of peak season, July is supposed to be the hottest and most popular. Upon arrival we were met and shown around and had a few tips about the area but we do like to explore on our own. Getting lost is part of the fun. The cave house is fabulous and made a great first impression. It lived up to my expectations in every way. Luckily the heat wave helped as the outdoor pool was fantastic. It's a nice private place and very quiet with spectacular views. I loved it.....for the first four days. I'm not saying I did not enjoy my stay but it is in a cave and is a little chilly and the bedding feels a bit damp until you climb in and warm it up. The bed is huge and so comfortable but feels a bit odd with the heavy duvet which is a funny damp heat bordering on clammy, I found my clothes were a damp too. The safe kept jamming so be aware of this. We had a flight booked to Athens and couldn't get the passports out and only caught the flight by the skin of our teeth. There was no instructions to get an outside line for out of office assistance and we ended up phoning an adjacent cave house at 7.00am. There is nowhere comfortable to sit if you have a spare hour or two in the day. We sat outside but when it got windy there were only long cushions to sit on with no back rest so you were leaning on the cave wall. We sat at the dining table a few times looking at our photos we had taken during the day, not very relaxing. I think four days here is enough. We love walking on our holidays but Oia has no pavements until you get to the marble walk which is about half an hour away and pretty hazardous with the traffic. We tried for one day then got a buggy which was great fun and we explored the North of the Island in it. We had already booked a Jeep for the last three days so we could explore the South. You need transport to experience the many fine eateries, you can't really have a good night out as you have to drive everywhere. We found Taxi drivers did not want to do short journeys. There's no beach in Oia but the sunset is phenominal, go early to get a space. I'm reviewing Santorini separately as it has no bearing on the accommodation. We checked out a night early and spent a night in budget accommodation.

My wife and I spent 4 nights in early September at this Cave house VI. I must say, if you have not experienced staying at a Cave house before, this is the one. The pictures does not do this Cave house any justice. Manos (Architect) has gone out of his way to ensure his Cave houses are super comfortable, beautifully appointed and very private. From this location, you can walk to OIA town, watch the best sunset in the world in (privacy) in your own private patio and pool, while having you favorite wine and appetizers. You have to be here to really appreciate this place! Elina and Manos, thank you for making this wonderful experience a reality! Looking forward to doing this again soon-:)
