Had a great time staying in Middle Cottage. Located in the centre of Bowmore, Coop store just round corner as is a couple of restaurants and a bar or 2. Bus stop is really convenient too. Great configuration of bedrooms in the property with 1 bedroom upstairs (with toilet up there too) and 1 downstairs. The property could have been a bit cleaner and there were a few maintenance issues that need to be addressed. Other than that good stay.

Beautiful spacious cottage in the heart of Bowmore. Walk to everything in town in minutes. Excellent central home base from which to explore the Island. The cottage is like walking into your own home, an absolute boon after many nights spent in motels etc.

Middle Cottage was just what we were looking for. Quaint decor with modern amenities. The location is perfect for any activities on Islay. The only reason we gave three stars for check in process was we did not get arrival information from booking manager and had to contact the host directly in the morning of our expected arrival. However our host was gracious and quickly followed up with the information we needed. We’d love a chance to book Middle Cottage again in the very near future.

We had a really great stay at Beryl and Roberts middle Cottage. Everything was just perfect. The cottage is a little hard to find, when you arrive in the dark, but it is located perfectly in the center of Bowmore. There is a supermarket in two minutes walking distance and for everyone who's interested, the Bowmore distillery is a five minute walk away. Sadly we had to leave quite suddenly one day early, because our ferry was cancelled due to an incoming storm, so we needed to take the last one, in order to get our flights. We enjoyed our stay really a lot and hope we didn't leave a to big mess, because of our sudden leave

Superb position in Bowmore, cottage was very comfortable with everything we could need for our stay. Local restaurants and pub were very good with brilliant views across to Port Charlotte. Second time staying here and it didn't disappoint. We will be back again to enjoy the wonderful scenery of Islay.

The cottage in Bowmore was fine , however there is, what we consider a problem. The fire and smoke alarms required by Scottish law are not in place, also plug adapters and extensions were used for appliances. This was a concern for us.

We have stayed at this cottage a few times. The location suits us, the cottage is comfortable, spacious, well equipped and always tidy. The rear is tucked away in a quiet cul de sac which is benefical if you have small children

We stayed here over Christmas. While everything was closed on Christmas and Boxing Day, we enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Islay, walking around Bowmore, and being able to cook for ourselves Christmas day! Very cute and clean property.

We've enjoyed the middle cottage in July 2022 for 3 nights. Being in the heart of Bowmore was a great location to explore Islay with 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The communication with the host and the housekeeper were fantastic! They were fast to reply to our requests. Also, you should note that the cottage is way nicer than on the pictures!

Lovely find!

Middle Cottage proved to be an excellent choice for our holiday. It was clean, comfortable, well-prepared, very well-equipped and had a welcoming feel as soon as we opened the door. A good place to return to after a day's walking around a beautiful island, and certainly a place to return to if we came to Islay again.

The property was ideally situated and large enough for 4. The bed was clean and comfortable as was the bathroom although all the surfaces and skirtings were under a layer of dust. A broken/worn out doormat and weeds greeted us at the back of the property, the entrance at the front hadn’t been swept or washed in a while, so it wasn’t really a nice welcome. The decor was tired, and there was a musty smell on entering. The kitchen was very cluttered but had adequate glasses/crockery, unfortunately we couldn’t use the toaster as it was fitted between 2 shelves leaving no room to fit the bread in. It was full of crumbs so someone had managed to make toast previously.

The cottage was beautifully furnished and equipped. The local residents were extremely friendly and we could get everything we needed in Bowmore. A great centre to explore the island. Fabulous walks, beaches, wildlife and history. Great!

Myself and my partner love this cottage. Bowmore is our favorite part of the island and this cottage is in a quiet side street off the center of the town. We have been fortunate enough to stay here twice in the past year and look forward to our next visit. A real gem and a home from home feel to it.

Compact but comfortable it has all you need for a base from which to explore the island. Parking right outside. Good resturants nearby: Harbour Inn 5 mins walk; Sea Salt Bistro 15 mins drive; Port Askaig Hotel 30 mins drive. Be sure to book tables as soon as you can!

Great cottage for us as a family with our 2 teenagers loving their twin room upstairs with their own bathroom. It had everything we wanted and I especially liked the folder of maps and local information. Thank you Robert for this. The cottage has a great location in the centre of Biwmore - a great place to explore the whole island of beautiful Islay. We will be back again and hopefully can stay with you again. We highly recommend your cottage!
