Sandpiper Shores

Our family thoroughly enjoyed this beach house. It was perfect for our little family of 5. We stayed a total of 5 nights. It had a very nice, vaulted family room with windows that looked out onto the beach. The windows in the front family room, master bedroom, and back bedroom also included garage like storm door enclosers. This home included a deck that looked out onto the beach with a nice eating area that fit a family 6 perfectly. We were able to access the beach easy enough by walking along the left side of the empty lot straight out along side the other beach house rental. And with kids, towels, boogie boards, and the wagon of sandcastle stuff this beach access made it stress free. Pro's - -Vaulted Family Room with Gorgeous View -Rooms with Garage like storm enclosers -Affordable -Clean Beach House -Hand Soap at every sink (This soap is amazing because it gets the beach oil spots out of clothes and off skin.) -Nice deck with outdoor Family Dining Area and (2 Adult Lounging Chairs for evenings) -Beach Access Easy (a walk practically straight out to the beach) -Garage Full of Beach Stuff which included (Boogie Boards, Sandcastle building buckets, a beach chair) -Outdoor shower for washing off Sand -Nice under the deck porch swing and hammock -Great to have laundry facilities in the garage under the deck! Con's - -Air Conditioning cannot keep up when it's over 85 degrees outside. It was an average of 98 to 104 degrees when we were there right before Labor Day weekend. We had to close the storm door enclosures over all the house windows between 10am - 4pm, to keep the rooms cool at 72 degrees. Otherwise, it would be 88 degrees in the house. If we were not at the beach, it became sad for us to lose the view everyday during those times. -Only 4 rolls of toilet paper and 2 trash bags for the whole week we were there. We could have used at least 1 more of each.

-Air Conditioning cannot keep up. House may need better insulation or a stronger AC unit. -Only 4 rolls of toilet paper and 2 trash bags for the whole week. We could have used 1 more of each. -Kitchen very low on spices, 3 black peppers, and no salt. The one salt container was completely empty when we arrived. -Kitchen also could have used some foil to aid in cooking dinners that needed to be covered. -Beach wagon is broken with no wheels on the back and so it cut husbands back leg with a 3 inch gash. -Flooring of house has soft spots in the sub-flooring. So it has dips in the flooring and broken plastic linoleum from main front room into Master bedroom. -No beach umbrella and only 1 old, faded beach chair. -***The biggest negative is that the Rental Management Company charged our card for the Full amount as soon as we reserved it months prior. It clearly stated that we would NOT be charged the full amount at first only half up front, until 2 weeks prior our stay the rest would be charged. This put a financial strain on our credit. Not happy with the rental company in charge of this rental.

I love the location.

It was hotter in the house when we arrived then it was outside. The thermostat read 90° when you know you have quest coming it should be lowered some.

Great location. Was able to drive a short distance and set up on the beach for the day! Exceptional view from the balcony.

No Hurricane - Nicholas came through like a freight train.

The property was in a great location and very cute house.

The ice maker didn't work. There were ants in the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom, including on the bed. They did send an exterminator. The coffee pot was cracked and they allowed the yard men to cut while we were there. Friday at 5 pm. I'm in the hammock on the ground-floor patio. They literally cut the grass 1' from me, then edging around me, and blowing the grass everywhere. My mom is highly allergic to fresh-cut grass so she had to go upstairs, into the house. There are 6 hours between check out and check in time so this should be done during those hours. Thank goodness we weren't cooking on the grill like we were the afternoon before.
