Our apartments at Surfside Martinique are not just beautiful; they’re also incredibly comfortable and functional! With ample square footage interior and a large deck just outside your door, you’ll have plenty of room to relax and all the space you need to make the most of your Caribbean escape!
Absolutely! While Martinique may feel like a distant paradise, it boasts one of the best infrastructures in the Caribbean, thanks to its status as a French Department. You’ll find smooth, well-maintained roads that make exploring the island effortless.
In our small village of Tartane there are tiny grocery stores, a gas station, several restaurants and cafes and some small marches where you can buy local fruits and vegetables. You can also buy fresh fish daily caught by the fisherman of the village.
Need medical assistance? You’ll have access to top-notch hospitals and skilled doctors nearby. For everyday needs, supermarkets stocked with French delicacies and fine wines are just around the corner. And let’s not forget the local bakeries! Imagine indulging in flaky pain au chocolat or fresh baguettes just five minutes from your door for the perfect breakfast treat. It’s a little taste of France, right in the Caribbean!
Surfside Martinique is located at the very tip of the peninsula we call the "Caravelle" which is the French name used to describe the ships used by Christopher Columbus who discovered the island in 1502.
Directly in front of the apartment is our beach, which we lovingly call "Surfer's Beach", and as you can see from the pictures of the surf, it is a name well chosen, although it is not the only surf spot on the island. There are several other spots on the east coast and others on the northwest. We have surfboards to rent right here and can help set up lessons if you desire.
Just a few steps east of Surfside Martinique, you’ll discover the stunning nature preserve—an outdoor enthusiast's paradise! Hike through lush trails, where vibrant flora and fauna abound, and don’t miss the chance to unwind on secluded beaches that feel like your own private getaway. There are hikes for all levels in the preserve from 30 minutes to 3 hours.

Christopher et Sylvie sont des hôtes sympathiques, attentifs à leurs locataires. Le studio est joli, tranquille et bien placé. Nous y avons passé 2 semaines très agréables.

My partner and I stayed at Sylvie and Christopher's for three days and were so happy there that we changed our travel plans to stay with them for three more. The studio is very charming, with clean sheets and towels and a very well laid out seating and dining areas both inside and out. Beautiful flowers and banana trees surround the deck and provide coverage for an outdoor shower, should you choose to take one. It's located in our favorite area of Tartane, the very last stop on the way to the Ruins on the D2. The studio is about thirty feet from the best surf beach on the island, where beginners are treated kindly by the more experienced surfers in the lineup. It's also just a quick three minute drive to our favorite restaurant in the area, Cocoa Beach Cafe. We spent our time hiking the ruins/private beaches on the coast of the Baie du Tresor, relaxing at Cocoa Beach and surfing the beach east of Anse L'Etang. Hiking the ruins sounded boring to us until we realized that the ruins aren't the main attraction. A one hour long walk spat us out onto a gorgeous private beach with very few people.The hosts are very kind and honestly kind of an inspirational couple. They built the house themselves and put a ton of work and heart into the design choices they've made. Christopher and Sylvie are both avid surfers and Sylvie offers massages and physical therapy consultation. My partner and I both optioned to have her help us with some old sports issues and she honestly made a difference for both of us. Can't stress enough how great our stay is. We plan to go back again in March and will absolutely be staying there if we are able to make it happen.
