About this cabin rental

Decked out in wood from top to bottom, the interior of Serendipity gives you a log cabin experience with modern amenities. Your front yard is the locally cherished New River, a recreational river in the High Country. Take your canoes or tubes for a float, then come back to ultimate comfort, both inside and out.
--------------------------------------------
Indoor Spaces
- Sleeping arrangements: Sleeps 10. On the main level is the primary bedroom and bath, along with a sleeper sofa in the living area. Head up to the loft to find the bunk room built to sleep four. Down below, the lower level has a twin-size daybed and pull-out trundle bed for extra accommodations.
- Main level: An airy indoor space with an open floor plan and tall cathedral ceilings connecting the living, dining, and kitchen areas. Cozy up on the couch in front of the log fireplace while your loved ones whip up a great meal just steps away.
- Upper level: Upstairs is an open loft with four bunks, a hideaway perfect for kids.
- Lower level: Downstairs is where the real magic happens. Gather around for a game of pool in the spacious game room, or head outside to the lower patio.
- Serendipity on the New River comes with WiFi, AC, and Smart TVs.
- All Stay Blue Ridge vacation rentals include a complimentary starter pack with soaps, one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, a roll of paper towels in the kitchen, dishwasher pods, and trash bags.
--------------------------------------------
Outdoor Spaces
- The New River is steps away; just walk through the yard to reach it. Bring your own canoes, kayaks, and tubes, or rent from one of the many local outfitters (such as Riverside Canoe & Tube Rentals, located right across the river).
- Watch wildlife and people alike enjoy the river from the comfort of an expansive covered deck and ample seating. The wrapping upper deck features a gas grill, while the lower deck has the best amenity of all — the hot tub.
- Serendipity's well-maintained yard is big enough for some serious fun, so bring your favorite outdoor games. Lounge in the lawn chairs when you tire out and watch the river flow by.
--------------------------------------------
Local Surroundings
- Positioned right on the line of Ashe and Alleghany Counties, Serendipity is a near-perfect midpoint between the towns of West Jefferson and Sparta. Drive 20 minutes to reach WJ, or 25 minutes in the opposite direction to Sparta. Downtown WJ has plenty to offer in the restaurant department and is also a hub for live music on the weekends. Meanwhile, Sparta has even more small-town charm, with an eclectic collection of shops and galleries.
- Want to dine out, but don't want to drive so far? Red Dog Bar & Bistro in Piney Creek is less than a 10-minute drive away.
- The New River is the main appeal of this area, and for good reason. Paddlers use the river all year long (yes, even in the cold months), though most outfitters are open seasonally from May to October. If you have your own boats, you can catch a cheap shuttle upriver and float right back to Serendipity's yard.
- Hiking enthusiasts love Serendipity for its proximity to places like Grayson Highlands State Park and Mt. Rogers, both found within a roughly 40-minute drive of Serendipity. Spend a day (or two) exploring the trails and looking for critters. At Grayson Highlands, eagle-eyed visitors might even spot the wild miniature ponies roaming about. Just remember to respect their space and keep your distance.
- Take a longer day trip up to Boone or Blowing Rock for more dining and shopping options. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time, because you're going to want to stop and enjoy all these bigger towns have to offer.
--------------------------------------------
Important Notes
- Pet Policy: Serendipity welcomes up to two well-behaved dogs. Must be leash and crate trained, two years or older, and 45lbs or less. $50 per pet, nonrefundable.
- Access: Located in a gated community with an entry code. A spacious gravel parking area can fit multiple cars. 4WD/AWD recommended in winter.
- Property Rules: The following are not permitted on this property — ATVs, UTVs, Golf Carts, Trailers.

The property was amazing the house was amazing the beds were comfortable. They did leave a used sponge for dishes which was a little icky and barely left us enough toilet paper or garbage bags. We bought more of that stuff for our stay and also contributed tin foil zip locks and salt and a pair of scissors as they didn't have that either for future people. The grill was horrific. U can't grill on it. They didn't have a lighter but also only like two burners worked and there was no covers over the flames. The power on the hottub was off so make sure u turn it on and make sure the heat light is lit for the heat element to work. It was peaceful and beautiful property. We saw deer on our walk up the hill. We came in winter so not much to do but we did visit widow creek falls. Also gorgeous and falls is not far from parking lot for people who can't hike far.

Rented for a bachelorette weekend. Such a fun and relaxing weekend with the ladies sitting in the river and spending time together.

The cabin was clean, thoughtfully decorated, and had everything we would need to cook a meal. The downstairs activity room gave space for all of us to relax separately or have fun together playing a game of pool. The hot tub was clean and worked well. The showstopper was the river! It was so peaceful, absolutely beautiful, and made our stay at sSerendipity, extra special! I would recommend this vacation rental to my friends and family. Thank you for everything!.

Small. Like really small. Old furniture, dining room table sagging in the middle, bedroom tiny Tiny! Mattress in bedroom closet. 1 couch, old, 1 chair. I’ve stayed in a lot of cabins, the last 2 have been disappointing. Would not recommend. Also very pricey. Especially with the size of cabin. Ain’t happy. In case you were confused.
