Perfect weekend

We were realybenjoying time. Had a realy nice dinner -bartenders were totally cool and realy delicious food. Price was quite high but anyway. Everything was realy prfect

A total disaster, we had to leave early, the staff understood.

The property is in disastrous condition, 3 stars are not applicable, no air conditioning in the middle of summer, walk to another location for breakfast is impractical, especially for handicapped people. Employees are kind, but they can not resolve the absence of investment and modernisation.

Peace. View. Vibe.

This is haven on earth. It is super unspoiled piece of paradise that I'm sure Croatian government will ruin very soon so better hurry up :-) One may call it Yugo-nostalgic but doesn't matter if it is or not. It is just perfect. The peace, the vibe, the view. Staff from all facilities are very professional and kind. Whatever is happening in Ulysses theatre is great.

Organisation to go back from the Ulysses theatre at Mali Brijun was a bit messy. But that doesn't probably has nothing to do with Hotel Karmen....

Eclectic vibe and stunning nature. Go while still is as is.

The vibe of the 60’s and all is cool. Still, air con and a fridge is a necessity on the island in 2023. No tv is ok. All around beautiful nature and absolutely worth it.

Enjoy the nature

Location is heaven on earth. Rooms Karmen are great value for money because you get transportation to the island. Decor is from the olden times, but it is a sort of time machine and history artefact in which you can envision how it used to be. It is clean and you also get beach towels. We got the room with new bed and mattress. I recommend taking half board. Breakfast has good variety (pancakes are big +) and dinner is also very good. Staff is polite and helpful. This island is the most magical place you you have to visit and enjoy the nature and peace. Definitely download Brijuni guide app

Location is like from a fairytale. The staff is extra kind and efficient. The breakfast and dinner were excellent. The place is quiet. The views of the sea are fabulous. The beds were very comfortable. The retro style of the hotel was charming.

The hotel is very old and it desperately needs refurbishing and restoration. The building and its interiors have not been renovated for about 40-50 years. Only regular maintenance... We did not really mind it, because we knew where we were going.

nice view from the balcony, the unique interior

almost nowhere a ramp for children’s cart, needed to lift it all the time. all it would take for a trolley, injured people, older people, people in wheel chair…. is a little ramp. the interior of the rooms should be upgraded, not renovated entirely but a smart merger between old and modern.

Apartments Karmen are clean but old fashioned. Toilet wasnt working, you heare everything that is moving in the hotel... Next day we asked if it is possible to move to Neptun and they were very nice and arange us everything...of course with plus money...but thar was OK. Food OK.

Amazing.

Breakfast amazing. Delicious. We took extra supper also excellent. Beautiful area and nice stuff. Authentic retro/vintage hotel. If you excepted new, modern you can be disappointed. No crowd no traffic. Peace and beauty. Paradise on Earth. And possibilities for excellent Theatre Ulysess’s performances on Small Brijuni. Great Holiday.

We would visit again, beautiful hotel, beautiful island, not to crowded.

We chose Brijuni Rooms Karmen for the original „Tito“ interior style and furniture. Our expactation were more the fullfilled. I dont know when they had their last refurbishment, i would guess in the 50‘s or 70‘s which makes the whole building more then unique, not comparable to nowadays exchangeable hotel designs, which are the same anywhere in the world. Some guest my find it outdated (which i completely understand) but i think its kind of unique. Try to get a seafront room, if you are traveling with family/ friends, try to get a „combined“ seafront room. All seafrontrooms have a terrace.

A minibar in the room would have been great, but you get everything you like at the restaurant in the partner hotel neptun to take to your room. And due to the hotels age, there is only one power outlet per room, maybe they should get extension leads.

Amazing peaceful location, kids friendly

The location is simply amazing - just on the see coast, so many old trees. Quite.. peacful. Beautiful beaches with lots of shadow. Endless trails to cycle or to walk. Nature is beautiful. Not so many tourists. Great breakfast and dinner (half-pension).

Karmen hotel is really retro retro. Laxury of 60th or 70th of the 20th century with little to no renovation since then. Nonetheless, the rooms are big, breathtaking view from balcony balances it all out. Drinking water in the bottle is quite expensive. 5.5 euro for 0.7l. Water from tap has a bit of weird smell and taste.. so in case you are demanding maybe bring some bottles from the land or be ready to pay the local price. Bicycles for rent is an amazing idea. The rent however is quite expensive (30euro/day) being old and of a bad quality. Trailers for children are all rented out. Baby seats are adjusted badly. You cannot book the bicycle for the next day. Which is stupid. In the evening the stuff is free and could do all the adjustments and paper work. In the morning there are ques.

Calm and pleasant place where you can fully relax

It was really authentic, best vacation day so far. I wish we stayes there a few more days, not just one night.

We couldn’t make reservation for the electric cars, to explore the island, so we had to wait, but thankfully we could rent one. Maybe if there was on option for that?
