Hamood Desert Private Camp

Hamood runs a very small camp that is just FANTASTIC. Together with Monjur (who is an excellent chef!) he makes for a great experience in the desert. We especially loved the tent we stayed in: very comfortable bed and enough space! The camp is a bit off the beaten path (which we loved so much!) but fantastic sitting almost on top of the dunes (great for sunrises and sunsets). Hamood told us a lot about the Omani culture, a great host!

I liked this camp. I believe a camp in the middle of the desert shouldn't be too luxurious and comfortable - it should still have the camp feel. So it was just like that. I really enjoyed the campfire, delicious tea and coffee and, mostly, company of travelers from all over the world. The owner, Hamood, also joined us to play oud and sing songs. The host (also the cook) was also very nice and actualy cooked very well. The location is also great - a bit further from the other camps, so it's quieter and very nice to look at the sunrise and walk around.

Food, service, campfire under the stars with traditional songs and dances, everything well above expectations. Hamood and his staff will make your stay a truly unforgettable one!

If you want a desert experience, this is the place for you. It was amazing and our family (with two children) had a memorable time. We arrived an hour and a half late for our pick-up, but we were warmly welcomed by Hamood. He was very friendly, funny, and kind. He and his staff went to great lengths to make our desert experience fantastic! Hamood took us on a camel ride, which was fantastic. We participated in an off-road driving activity on the sand dunes with Hamood, and we loved him because he drove so fast and gave us an amazing ride! The views and sunsets from the dunes were spectacular. Our tent had a stunning view! It was very comfortable and we loved everything! And the food was the best meal we've ever had in Oman. We loved EVERYTHING about this summer camp! And I'm so glad we booked here. It was absolutely worth everything. It was fantastic, and the owner is a very kind person! I would definitely recommend this place to all my acquaintances who want to visit Oman.
