About this house rental

Built circa 1876, this charming historic home home has been recently refurbished to showcase the home’s exposed ceiling beams and wide plank heart pine floors. Warm and inviting, you’ll feel right at home during your stay in Savannah!

The living room has a wall mounted television and a new leather sofa bed. Twin decorative fireplaces flank the dining area, which seats 4 to 6 people comfortably. The remodeled kitchen has granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. A door from the kitchen leads to a private paved courtyard perfect to enjoy coffee, refreshments, or grill your evening meal.

On the main floor, the bright and sunny primary bedroom has a queen bed, a TV, dresser and a spacious closet. Adjacent is a full bathroom with a pedestal sink and a tub/shower combination. The upstairs loft bedroom has a king-sized bed, TV, a full bath, and full sized washer and dryer.

In the residential area of the Historic District, you’ll have a quiet and relaxing retreat to return to each night while still being within walking distance to several Savannah landmarks, including Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room and the infamous Mercer-Williams House of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.

As a historic cottage, this home has original features uncommon to many of today’s homes. Specifically, the stairs to upstairs bedroom are steeper than newly built homes and should be taken into consideration for those with mobility issues.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This historic house is located on the edge of the Historic District two blocks from Forsyth Park. Walkable to just about everything in the HD. House was clean, well-furnished (comfortable beds) and had a great outdoor patio space with grill. The designated parking on the side of the house is a great feature as street parking can be iffy at times. If we had one negative...and it's a small one...the cooking utensils (pots/pans) are worn and need to be replaced. Otherwise, everything else was in great working order. This charming historic property was perfect for our family holiday visit to Savannah. Thank you.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Molly’s Cottage feels off the beaten path yet within walking distance to Forsyth Park and River St. We appreciated the owners’ efforts to document the house’s storied past. Dedicated parking spot is a great amenity.Living room did not feel small or confining and offered comfortable furniture. A first floor queen bedroom had adequate drawer and closet space. An extra blanket would be a nice addition for cool nights. The TV in the room is really small and difficult to see from bed. The loft bedroom on the 2nd floor is accessed by a set of steep stairs. Otherwise, the space upstairs was surprisingly large, with a king bed and full bath. Ceiling fans in the living room and bedrooms were nice to have.Galley style kitchen is small but functional, amenities for cooking a little limiting, A better set of knives and cooking utensils would be nice. While we never expect a fully supplied kitchen, providing coffee filters and a small packet of Savannah Roasters coffee would be a nice touch, as we usually find in other Lucky Savannah rentals. The in-wall cabinet where cookware and silverware are stored needs work! The bottom shelf is smaller than the cabinet and it looks like an unfinished (and dirty) attempt to make storage. A better fitting bottom shelf and some new paint would make a huge difference.Outdoor space is nice, with a table, chairs and umbrella. Great for morning coffee and afternoon cocktails. While some complained about noise from the automotive business behind the house, we did not find it annoying. The addition of some outdoor lighting would make it useable after dusk and to enjoy an evening meal outdoors.Molly’s Cottage is a quaint house. We recognize that historic houses have limitations and the rich character found in the old stone fireplaces and hand cut oak floors make the experience of staying in Savannah part of its charm. A few minor updates would certainly elevate the Cottage’

Property was close to Forsyth Park. Parking was tight. The house needed a deep clean, especially floors and bathrooms. Furniture needs to be replaced in living room and dining area - old worn and dirty, dining table worn and old, rug in kitchen dirty. Patio was nice but very overgrown. I would recommend only if property was cleaned and updated.
