A total disappointment

Conditionally a living room, if the sofa remained unstretched. Proximity to the city, if there was an alternative walking route, not on a very busy main road.

According to the description and photos (who knows when they were taken) on Booking, one would expect a nice and high-quality accommodation, but it was a complete failure and disappointment. The building itself, like an apartment, everything is dilapidated, unmaintained and neglected. The "bedroom" is a small bed, squeezed between 4 walls, with only a narrow sliding door. For two people, you have to "climb" over each other. Unusable, except for two children... The toilet is a micro version, with a light without brightness, it always stinks. When you stretch out the sofa in the living room, there is no space left, you have to move coffee table, light, chairs, can't go to the "sun terrace" (in reality it is a dilapidated balcony with a dilapidated makeshift table and chairs). Location next to the main road, loud noise and desperate air. My mistake for choosing this accommodation based on the description and pictures, not the location. The kitchenette was dirty, the cabinets and coverings were sprayed. The hob stopped working while preparing breakfast. The cutlery was only basic, the knives were useless. Towels - one per person for two nights - miserable. Torn and very dirty brown cushions on the chairs. Parking - although there is a lot of space in front of the building, you are not allowed to park in front of the garages, there are only 4 parking spaces next to them, which are constantly occupied. When I wrote to the owner about the bedroom, towels and parking, he became aggressive and insulting, instead of learning from the comments and improving things. I would take away license to operate... P.S. I saved the written communication with the owner.

Overall a disappointment.

You're close to the Cité Vauban (2 kms). The bathroom is well-equipped. Helpful booklet in four languages. Everything was clean, even if the outside window hadn't seen a duster for some time.

The double bedroom is miniscule - the photo doesn't really give a complete impression - and, with the sliding door, it is not for claustrophobes. The bedside light didn't work; to switch off the main light necessitated going out of the bedroom to the hallway. The road is noisy. To leave just two capsules of coffee is hardly generous. We emptied the bin - no replacement sac poubelle - but could find no dechetterie by L'Auberge de l'Impossible. Overall, rather a disappointment.

Cute but need an extra touch

It was good. Had everything you need except cups(mugs). You cant make good tea in a tiny cup. The living space is great! And the balcony is a bonus!

The bath tap broken, the mould around the bath needs addressing. The bedroom floor was very dusty with food crumbs. Given the 40€ cleaning fee I would expect everything to be sparkling!

The kitchen is really fully equipped. The apartment is really well cleaned. there are a lot of commercial activities near the apartment

In the summer time the near road is really noisy (with windows opened) The bedroom is claustrophobic ( so we have used the sofà) the isolation from the neighbours apartments doesn’t exist

This proved to be a very comfortable and convenient place to stay. It is very compact and although it says it can accommodate four people we were very happy to just be two adults. It would work for four but it would be very tight. There is everything there you need. No aircon but we managed by having the doors open for through breeze until we went to bed then shut the shutters only so still had through breeze.

No aircon. No wifi.

Alles. Er zaten zeker 15 vliegen binnen. We konden de buren naast ons en boven ons horen. Het contact met de verhuurder liep zeer moeizaam. Ook liepen er een aantal mensen rond di e er niets te zoeken hadden. We voelden ons niet veilig. Gelukkig konden we ( Annette en ik,) nog snel iets anders boeken. Daarop zijn we door gereden naar Embrun. Met vriendelijke groet Ger Savelkouls en Annette Verhees.
