Mangrove Casita on Lac Bay is in a tranquil setting on the edge of Bonaire's natural marine preserve (BNMP), bounded on the west by wild kunuku and across the street on the east by Lac Bay. We are just over a mile to the renowned windsurfing mecca (Jibe City and Bonaire Windsurf Place) at Sorobon on Lac Bay.
One air-conditioned bedroom with king bed. The bedroom opens through double doors to an open screened patio, providing ventilation from onshore trade winds.
Mangrove Casita is a simple, complete home, ideal for a couple, but can accommodate up to 2 additional guests on the extra-wide living room sofas.
Fully equipped kitchen with gas oven and stove and full-size refrigerator. WiFi router in apartment. Enjoy breakfast, tea, read, or go online on the back patio or the front porch with built-in seating.
Scenic beach across the street provides great views of Lac Bay but due to protected sea grass habitat is not suitable for swimming.
Please note: daily maid service is not included, but we do provide fresh linens once a week.

Quiet area. Easy to find. Close to flamingo viewing and windsurfing. Short drive to town.
Nice hot shower. Kitchen well stocked.

We very much enjoyed our week at Mangrove Casita! The studio apartment was cozy, fresh and comfortable, and the location felt private but not isolated. We loved the screened porch for our morning coffee while watching the various birds and hummingbirds. This is our second time staying in this area of the island and we returned here because of the peaceful feeling of being close to nature. We are windsurfers and it’s a short trip over to Jibe City, and the restaurant Foodies is also close by. The property manager Petra was very helpful and responsive when we had questions. We hope to return someday and highly recommend Mangrove Casita.

We stayed for 7 nights at Mangrove Casita and enjoyed the location, condo/casita, amenities
and views immensely. The convenient location to Sorobon Beach Resort & Jibe City were ideal. My wife loved relaxing/swimming at Jibe City’s “Hangout Bar & Beach”, while I learned to windsurf. A superb place to windsurf for beginners and experienced windsurfers. We found the casita front porch ideal for our morning coffee & a view of Lac Bay. The couches were great for relaxing and sleeping (there were 3 of us) & the bedroom with AC very comfortable. The kitchen is well-fitted and the bathroom modern with an outstanding shower. Wifi/Internet is excellent. Easy driving distance to well-stocked supermarket & excellent restaurants in Kralendijk. Night visitors (wild donkeys) were definitely an added attraction! The condo & area are enjoyably quiet & peaceful. BTW, the water in Lac Bay is awesome…warm, clear & soooo blue! Our stay could not have been better! We look forward
to returning to Mangrove Casita!

This property is exactly as described - cozy, surrounded by nature, and fully-prepared for guests. The location is ideal for the independent traveler, as you will have to arrange your own transportation, day trips and activities. This was a huge plus for us, as this is exactly the kind of vacation we were looking for. Being so close to Sorobon beach was perfect, and being just a 15-minute drive outside the hustle and bustle of town was great for a getaway. We always felt safe even though there are just a few other casitas/a hotel within walking distance.
Wifi was strong and kitchen was fully stock with equipment for cooking. The AC in the bedroom is great to cool down when needed, but the doors/windows of the apartment allow for plenty of air circulation. The apartment was clean and ready for guests upon arrival. We plan to be back, and highly recommend this location to other visitors!
